When for New Tires

How do you know when it's time for new tires. Is there a mark of the tire you follow , or measure? I've got 13K on mine.

There should be wear indicators cast into the tread. Or just wait for cords to show.

Depends on the desired function. Driving on clean dry roads at legal speeds with smooth throttle use. Check you states requirements for tread depth.

Want maxim performance, best open track times? Tires age with time, temperature, and use. Tires on sale that were made two years ago have less grip than tires made six months ago. Old tires are not good for fast track times or maxim street grip.
