Wondering about Gen. 1 steering wheel badges?

My '94 has a red snake on the steering wheel of course...were there Gen.1 wheels made with a different color badge? Why red when my black car has chrome snakes on the front and back? Is it something in relationship to the red engine? I also had red factory mats, and while we are on the subject of markings, why does my car have nice chrome logos on the sides stock, but some don't? Anyway, I think I might get the Snake Oyl steering wheel with the silver badge...anyone have a pic of it installed?

1. GenI steering wheel horn button only came with the RED emblem.
