For almost 10 years we have been going to Racing Schools over the Winter to hone our skills, feeling these refresher courses got us ready for upcoming Racing Season. We also found it very beneficial for new Viper owners or others who had never been to a driving/racing school ,since they purchased their new beasts, to go to a custom designed school prior to slithering their Snakes on the track. Every year, 50% of our attendees have never been to a school, and we invite those folks with open arms. The huge benefit this year is that the gentleman who has assisted in getting our schools designed for optimum track time and instruction, and minimal downtime, is now the new owner of Derek Daly Driving Academy. We will be traveling to Las Vegas for a 3 day school ( February 27,28, and March 1st ) in BMW Z3s and Fomula Cars , but the biggest benefit, is that the $3500 school is being reduced for our 10 years of participation with Racingschools.com to only $2695. This is what we paid over 5 years ago to go to a school, and this is the bargain of the year. This includes Data Acquisition , which lets you know virtually immediately where your strengths and weaknesses lie - improvements grow at a much faster pace.

There will also be a chance for a drive in a ex Formula One car ( extra ) , as well as an extra cost ( around $300 per day) for experienced drivers to run on slicks in the Formula cars. This will be run on the outside, 2.4 mile road course, at the Las Vegas Speedway, and unlike many more structured schools, you will be thoroughly exhausted by day 3 -- you will recieve a ton of track time.

This is a good value for the money.

My wife and I just returned from the 2-day Radical Driving School held at Spring Mountain, Nevada and it was a blast. Lots of track time and quite a bit of improvement by both of us.

Viper X, love to have you go, and that is a fun track over in Pahrump. The track in Vegas is a bit longer, a bit faster, and if you decide to take a trip around in an F1 machine, a bunch faster, ha. Figured with all the calls I should have put the price down for a lap in a Formula 1 car, as everyone has been asking the price and I was not aware I did not list it with the rest. It is $495 per lap, which is consistent with what is charged in Europe. This is the only place in the US where you can drive a Formula One car and these cars all have:

Steering wheel mounted semi- automatic gearshift
Traction Control
Carbon Brakes
Remote Engine Shut-off

These are real, ex-Formula 1 racecars.

Just found out you can now register online. Just go to www.racingschools.com
and go to Derek Day page, and click on program icon found at the bottom of the page. It will say Woodhouse 2006 and you just click on and you can do your deposit, pay in full, order slicks ( for advanced drivers ) , pay for Formula 1 runs, etc.

Prashant went with us once before and had a great time ---- can't imagine how much fun he would have let loose in Vegas,ha. Both of you are very welcome, as is everyone else. Seat time will be at a max, but more importantly, we will have the track to ourselves as February is seldom open at all due to the closeness to the Nascar race!

Good news ( no I didn't just switch to Geico ) , we have acquired a " Racer Rate , " at the Las Vegas Hilton of just $75 a night for the school. This can be done on line at Racingschools.com ( go to the Formula Cars, look under Derek Daly and go to the absolute bottom ) as Woodhouse is listed and a phone call is not necessary. If you do want to call ( 1-877-463-7223 ) you can get info and do your reservation with Robert or Carlos. You do need to get the room taken care of and paid in January to get the low rate.
