Alright...After numerous searches theres no real word on the power this cam will produce in an SRT10 Viper...

I looked at the price and well..For 350$ it seems reasonable..Then you can also order the tune straight from Mopar for 400$..Still reasonable ( but Id rather just spend 600-700 on the new hand held programmers)

Ive got a shop that will install it for me for 1K...Im thinking with the cam/tune/install/gaskets bolts ect. This will be around a 2100$ job..

BUT....What kinda power dose the CC cam actually make?

Lets say you had a bone stock 440 rwhp viper..With just the cam could you expect atleaste 460 rwhp?

I no dealers/owners have installed these so called "power packs" what the dyno results of the claimed 555 crank HP...

Will I be able to run the CC cam without any tuning?

Thanks for any help and I realize there are more agressive cams out there but having a competition coupe cam just sounds kool..LOL

I researched the cam install and decided it was not worth the money. I feel the cam is only worth it if you do heads as well. One of the best bang for buck is a performance tune. I have a DC Performance tune. Really woke the car up. I was running really lean as most stock cars do. The tune fixed that.

Twister,

I think the real question you should be asking is... "How far do I want to take this setup?"

If you plan not to do headwork and just keep it bolt-ons, it's not worth it to do the cam.

If you plan to do the cam, you might as well go all the way and not half way like I did. I have a Crower Stg

If you plan to do the cam, you might as well go all the way and not half way like I did. I have a Crower Stg1 street cam, it's not any bigger than the 708 cam. In hind-sight, I should have done a big solid roller and made 650-675rwhp N/A. For my setup, the cam is too small.

So it just depends, how far you want to take it. Is 500rwhp enough, or do you want more. If you like most of us, more is better. When this motor comes apart, It's getting that solid roller w/ some HUGE hair-dryers.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.

Have you dynoed your car? Most stock tune af ratios seem to be in the low 11's or even 10's...The DC tune corrected my ratios to 12.8-13.2 across the RPM band. Car picked up close to 25hp in the mid range. Car felt much more responsive. I think most folks get about the same results. DC Performance can custom tune your car for the specific upgrades you have done. There are portable tuners available. I can't tell you anything about those. I would definitely research that as well.

Did you notice a big increase with the Crower?

Some. It's a good street cam, idle is like a older viper a little lumpy. Power on the top end is a little better. But over all, if I was just doing a cam....I wouldn't use it, not worth the work.

If I were to stay all motor doing a H/C setup....Solid Roller all the way. Better idle, better power bigger power band. Why make 565rwhp when you can make an EASY 650rwhp and still have the same idle. Hydro is nice because you never have to mess with it. But if you don't mind doing a little extra work every 10kmi a Solid is the way to go.

I wish I would have talked to Greg Good sooner.

DC did mine and the power band was the key power all the way to the top I picked up 7 hp and 15lbs of torque. but it just ran a lot better, faster but hard to hook up the tires. The cost $450.00

Twister, Here is the website: DC Performance: Proven Performance
Dan currently has the pice listed at $600. That is overwriting your stock PCM. I, like others, purchased a PCM and had the tune written to it. This gives you the ability to retain the stock PCM in the event you have to have the car serviced. Other advantages include skip-shift delete and a revised cooling fan schedule...this plus installing a 170 degree thermostat will allow the car to run approx. 20 degrees cooler.
