04 Mamba vs 08 Z06
Jamie, traded for $45K, had 25,000 miles, all mine, clean car, was due for 4 tires and oil/filter. With tax bene on trade ,tires, & oil was equivalent of just over $50,000 in my pocket. 04 Mamba vs 08 Z06
Sadly, I've traded my 04 Black Mamba for an 08 Atomic Orange Metallic Z06. Main reason: wife can drive the Z06, she was intimidated in the viper. After over 100,00 miles in 3 different vipers all bought new (72K, 15K, and 25K respectively)I can honestly say that as nice a car that the new Z06...- badsnk

viper as a driver/ residual value?
I use my '04 mamba as a daily driver in upstate New York from mid March to end December. Have over 100,000 miles in vipers since my 96 RT/10. Stickier softer tires on the '96, but MUCH better wet capabiltity on the SRT as well as twice the milage out of the rears. Absolutely no problem in the...- badsnk

Damn California law, mount front license plate or keep it off...
If you leave it off, it gives the officer the opportunity to give you a no plate ticket instead of a speeding ticket. I got stopped a few years back by NYSP doing 30mph over the limit, and he gave me a 'dirty front plate" ticket. Huge courtesey from the trooper especially since car was clean...- badsnk

TX Front Plate Law
In NY it is also illegal to run without a front plate. I've been stopped more than once, but never ticketed. One of my buddies who is a NYS trooper told me to tell them he told me not to put the front plate on and if I did put it on then he would ticket me himself ; so far it's worked. Also...- badsnk

10,000 no probems miles on my SRT
Traded in my '96 RT/10 last August with 72,000 miles, all mine (and some cop buddies), on a black '03 SRT. Over 6,000 miles so far and no complaints; 1/2 those miles moderately hard. Build time was August 2003, so it was between the valve recall and the cam bolt issue. Old surgical training...- badsnk

Help me choose between VOI 8 and 3-day racing school
I agree with Steve from Indiana. Go to the VOI-8 and then do the Viper Day event that follows. Did this in St Louis at the VOI-6, never regretted it. Great experience and great driving time and instruction. Recommend you run your stock tires that you drive there with and reserve new tires...- badsnk
