See Anthony here is the issue. A fully worked SRT intake will make more power on the top end. You will lose some torque, but when you are racing you usually are only below 4000 RPM at the beginning of the race. So the majority you are spending above 4000 RPM. I am sure you knew this.
On a...
Something you might want to try is putting the new SRT intake on your motor, ported and polished of course. You will lose a little bottom end torque but you will pick that up on the top end and be able to extend your power range a few hundered RPM. I am sure you don't have a torque problem...
Jr. Nice times. Glad to see things are working out for you. I hope you all come to the Nationals. I am pretty sure you can break into the 8's very soon. Have you considered utilizing a staged boost set up. This way you can maximize traction down low and run some higher boost on the big end. What...
All I have to say is thanks for the pics of the Viper from SEMA. That is a phenomenal looking car. Hopefully some company will start producing those pieces.
The ride I am speaking of was a few years back. It was nice having the tires light up going into 4th. PM sometime and maybe I can help with the goal of lowering your time. Hope you come to Texas and race.
SVS---Could you reveal the boost on that run and what the car makes at the rear wheels for that amount of boost on those runs. The reason I am asking is I am making the assumption with a Glide and boosted V-10 I think you should be able to hit low 9's pretty easily without NOS and even high 8's...
I don't really understand the comparison against John H. The SVS car and the other car are completely different, built for different things. I am sure the SVS car has more in it. I am also sure that when many tuners get closer to the sub 9 second runs the bar will be raised again. Congrats to...
Re: Heffner\'s Prototype Twin Turbo Viper GTS
Sounds like the bar will soon be raised in the TT competition. Lets see there is SVS, Heffner and Henn. I am curious to see the pricing stand points to performance and see who sets the bar for all out power, ET, MPH and top speed. Would be nice to...
Competition for the Viper is very healthy! I would think everyone would be happy that the C6 is going to be fast and lite weight. If Chevy steps up you know the coupe will be a step up as well. Better for both Corvette and Viper enthusiasts!
That is a decent run for the SVS guys. Soon that number will be eclipsed. I am sure they are still dialing in the torque converter. When that happens hello 8's!
The cause of wheelhop is from the tire having inconsistent track bite. Usually different shocks or a drag radial tire will help with this.
A side note- Wheelhop is a big NO NO! Try and limit it as much as possible because it is a quick way to break parts.
I have to say I love the Vipers and the Skylines, but I am going with the Skyline to win this year. Paolo's Viper is a really nice car and makes incredible power, but I think it will lose in some areas like the Granma Test, Guru Panel etc.. The Skyline will should do extremely well in the 0-60...
