On March 5th I headed west toward El Paso, TX for the start of yet another rally. This time I participated in the Dustball Rally 1000: El Paso - Los Angeles with a smaller group than last time (around 8-9 teams). The first day we ended up in Tucson, AZ after a lot of back roads and highways full...
19: Stopped for food somewhere in Arkansas and was asked why I was driving a race car. When I replied we were in a rally headed to Miami the lady said, "Honey, this aint's the way to Miami. I's think you is lost."
20: Made some new friends in the town right before that...
21: And one last...
14: We had to ride a ferry somewhere and I didn't know it until I was driving on to that damn thing. Anyway... 26 teams all packed in there looked pretty cool.
15: My favorite car of the rally! Custom built G8 with upgraded LS2, supercharger, nitrous, and 3 crazy-ass Texans.
16/17...
8: Posted up on Ocean Dr. in Miami. Had way too many people come up to us to take pictures and ask, "Who are you guys?!"
9/10/11/12: People like to have a little fun so this is how car's would usually look like in the mornings. Stickers were also used as decorations to other people's cars...
I had a nice little recap typed up and my damn Safari froze up. So now I'll just post a few pics. with a small description and call it a day.
1: Picture of the whole group taken at a random gas station somewhere in GA. Notice the guy next to the sheriff...
2/3/4: Since I had the fastest...
Attended the photo shoot today that will be used as promotional (and fap fap) material for Dustball. There was three models in attendance but one left early, the other seemed to only like Corvette's (***?), and the last one decided she wanted some ACR action. Anyway... I'll **** now and post...
So here's the finished product! Picked up the car earlier today from my friend's shop and I'll be headed to Dallas early in the AM for the photo shoot. And yes, the black, blue, wheels, and gas cap are all plastidip and can be removed when I choose to do so.
Just got this pic sent to my phone. The gas cap was peeled and will be re-dipped in matte black. The Sneaky Pete on the hood will be wrapped with a smoked film (because the red looks out place) and taillights will receive the same treatment. It looks like a 4x4 right now but should look nice and...
True! But it's nice to go around with a different look every now and then (especially one that's easily reversable!)
And yes, I believe there's one in the UK called MODBALL Rally. Google might know more than me though.
Original color is red w/ silver stripes. The matte black was a base coat of plastidip followed by the matte blue, which will be the final color. It'll last a year easily if taken care of (water & soap) and can be peeled off as the previous posts said.
Thank you! I'm ready to see it in person and even more anxious for next week to be here. Sponsor decals will be on it by Friday so I'll have to snap some good pics before then.
