i have a business that does this sort of thing, somewhat by accident, we travel all over the southeast with the race shop floors as well as the most level epoxy surface plate in the world for the most serious of racer. The coating is the easy part as stated above, what people don't realize is...
Don't you know that Corvette owners rate their HP at the flywheel not the rear tires, take off 15% and it was pushing maybe 360 at the tires. so a 12.70 was not bad, but my Viper friend still spanked me with a 12.1
thanks for clearing that up, my bone stock GTS went 12.15 at 119, and my bone...
Ummmmm you need to pick a different hobby. 12.70's at 108, were you at Denver or what? With 420hp that's about the worst display I've ever seen. Just for grins, how quick have you been in a viper?
When you use the rocker ratio you ease the strain on the lifter bores. Most big buck pushrod stuff....aka nascar, uses rocker ratios in the 2.somthings.
I've heard that some late 97 production cars had a different camshaft due to a shortage at the factory????? My dad's 97 was built in december of 97 and has a noticeable lump at idle. It also ran a 12.15@119.somthin in the fall of 2000 on the original tires with a 1.97 60'.
launched at 2K, slid the clutch with 22psi with the pilots and that was a 1.92 60'. Bone stock 97, tubes filters and all went 12.15@119.3 on that pass.
Re: I do believe I\'m gonna have to switch gears....
Car went from 12.15 to 11.90's going from 3.07 to 3.45 no other changes. All on michelin pilots that it was born with. Mid 1.90's on the 60'
I set up a 3.45 in my fathers bone stock GTS and it seems to be very nice and easier to keep the back tires on it compared to the 3.07. As far as prices go, i think the bare ring and pinion is around 350-400 maybe cheaper and then $100 worth of bearings and seals.
