Viper and Corvette to be siblings?

Simple fact of the matter is that U.S. Auto Manufacturers keep building vehicles the U.S. consumers don't want. Buyers can find a better priced, better equipped alternative too U.S. brands right at there home town dealer. The American car industry is driven by false numbers that tout production...

Viper and Corvette to be siblings?

It seems hard to predict the production of a limited model by a financially shakey car company two years out. Frankly, I have to wonder what a sales challanged GM would do with a sales challanged Chrysler line? (Kind'a like Sears buying K Mart!)

Viper and Corvette to be siblings?

Sure beats a French or Chinese outfit buying Chrysler. God save us. :usa:

    Header clearance?

Don't forget, when you install your after market headers, Don't beat a dent in them. You can probably just shim the right motor mount to gain needed clearance to the frame.

    Fuel filter surgery ...

Had a heck of a time replacing mine last fall. Then the fuel line and filter parted company one day in a local (thank God) parking lot, spraying gas every where. Had to flatbed the car to a dealer, who replaced the offending filter with a new one, with no problem (that is except for the usual gas...

West Coast Viper PCM mod issues, anyone else?

Where have I heard of this problem before. Remember some of you the old TSB 18-32-97? It delt with a drop in RPM as a result of a perseived misfire @ 5500 RPM. This sounds quit similar. Is it possible, a new design with a old problem recurring?

    Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread>

Gerald, what joy. Congratulations. I don't want to sound doubful but.... enjoy it while it lasts. When you have achieved a full season of driving your Viper and several thousand miles w/o a problem, then I will believe you have fixed it. My experiance has been a simple battery bump etc will fix...

    Random High Idle / Sticking Idle - <master thread>

Jerry, I admire your resolve concerning this issue. Most respondents will tell you that there is no one lasting solution for this problem. Most all of us have experienced it from time to time, modified or not. One time is TOO many. I find it disappointing that DC can engineer a replacement part...

    hot jet coating?

You keep asking about "Header Wrap". Do Not wrap your header system with that stuff. You will burn your header pipes out. This is not to be confused with the stock heat shields. Do use a heat coating. Very effective. (JD)

    Oil Leak?

Ya, my timing cover gasket leaked after about 20K miles. Haven't had it leak since I replaced 30K miles ago. This is a fairly common problem that seems to go away once the gasket has been replaced. You can try some "leak dye" if you want to, but I would suggest you simply replace the T/C gasket...

    In Car Navigation

I to use the Garman portable GPS. My unit is the "Street Pilot III" with auto routing and voice. I would recommend the "Deluxe Package" which includes a 128MB data card. Also included is a USB Data card programer which makes map down loads fast and easy. The stand alone price of the 128MB data...

    need to charge battery

They are perfectly fine for charging. No Problem. Sometime down the road though, you might want to pull your rear wheel, pop the panel and inspect the battery and connections. Vipers require optimum current voltage to run properly. Don't forget to check for corosion in the tray.
