    Anyone tried these Stone Guards

I like Dan's guards a lot. They are just big enough to provide all the protection you need, but small enough to be completely inconspicuous. They are working because the sides of my car are totally clean, all the time. Before they were always dirty. Noticing all the chips I have, I wish I...

    LED Replacement Lighting Thread

Hey Dan. What I REALLY want is a complete fog replacement. That is, a normal sized projector in that fog spot. I don't like the gigantic looking stock units. I know companies make projector fogs, but I've been too lazy to craft any kind of bracket, plus it probably would need a blacked out...

    LED Replacement Lighting Thread

Back with a Fog Light update. The LED tower I had before was way too bright and scattered light everywhere. I never used them. The color was good though for me at 5K. I found these single LED 'projector' bulbs. It really focuses light forward and not into the lens. I am just looking for a...

Any possible way to make the trunk on a convertible power (lift) up and power down?

Re: Any possible way to make the trunk on a convertible power (lift) up and power dow It does sound more involved, but I am sure there are components out there to control all this. Hot Rodders do it all the time. It would have to be tied into the Remote Trunk Release somehow, have...

Any possible way to make the trunk on a convertible power (lift) up and power down?

Re: Any possible way to make the trunk on a convertible power (lift) up and power dow The purists want the top unpowered for weight reasons. That is understandable. But I really expect the GenV Vert to be powered. Or, maybe the 'GTS' version of the Vert will be powered and the rest will not...

Agree - I hate the sound of any 6 - flat boxer, inline, V - they all sound terrible. People complain about the V10, but it is certainly better than a 6!

Here a Porsche, there a Porsche

Well we have a 7 passenger SUV. So for a 'fun' car, the 911 works because of 4wd (a little safer) and 4 seats (they are small kids, it would work). A 2 seater for her is impractical - there is almost always at least 1 kid being carted around, and the front seat is not ideal. Its a bonus to be...

Here a Porsche, there a Porsche

I was just pointing out that a 911 can actually be used day to day with a family (within reason of course...), which I assume makes it an easier sell to someone who can't have multiple cars. And thus, they sell in great numbers, even at that price tag. I think Porsche realized that and spawned...

Here a Porsche, there a Porsche

I think the only reason the 911 sells so much is that it is relatively practical. 4 seats, 4WD, reliability, comforts. And its a masterful sports car. Pretty rare combo. But since its so practical, you see 20 on the way to work. But its an easy car to justify $100K on. I have a Viper. I...

    LED Replacement Lighting Thread

I used Sylvania/OSRAM 66144CBI (Cool Blue Intense). Pretty much 5000K. They are plug and play replacements, so no need to change anything like ballasts. They also are 'supposed' to be the brightest. I looked up Philips Ultinons, I have not heard of them. Looks like reports from users say...

    LED Replacement Lighting Thread

Finally replaced my HIDs (stock 4300K) with 5000K Sylvania Silverstars. This matches the 5000K LEDs in the markers and fogs, so everything looks nice now. Will try to take a picture at night, but my camera never seems to pick up the difference - but in person its clear. The old HIDs looked...

    4 Post Lift Info

Whoa, that thing is cool. So the car rests all four wheels on the lift. You slide this under, and extend the arms to meet up with the triangular jack points, and then crank the front or rear up? Then you can raise the whole lift to working level? This does sound like the ticket.
