I am really surprised no posted that a non-ACR GTS sold for $100k with buyer's premium at this past January's Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale. I had a chance to see this car and with only 9,600 miles it appeared to be perfect. As a former GTS owner I was amazed that there were no scratches...
I crunched the second gear in my 98 and was lucky enough to find a great tranny guy in my town who not only removed/rebuilt/replaced it for a great price, but had the skills to swap out the super tall 5th and 6th overdrive gearing for the shorter version found in older Aston Martins so that I...
From this year's Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale it was made pretty clear that the oddball special editions of the last model Extreme Aero ACR are the most valuable. So if most valuable = most collectible then those. I am not sure even a GTSR homologation model has ever sold for $175k+...
Did you see this mid-80s Corvette with a Gen I Viper "body Kit" for sale. That sure is a bunch of work for very little payoff:

I agree. If you are going to stick with 18/18 and you do not mind an aggressive tire, my favorite tires I ever had on my 98 GTS were the Toyo R888s.

If you manage to find a used set of the Edelbrocks, make sure there is enough meat left on the mid-flanges so that you can machine them flat because they warp and will not hold gasket. I sold my set to someone who needed the CARB certification and went with Belangers.
Pure hatred from John Phillips at Car and Driver in the March 2016 issue:

I have read a lot of hash words written about the Viper over the years, but John Phillips just goes off in the March 2016 Car & Driver. From inception to the Gen V, he disrespects the car:

Here is the link with comparison that Bill described:

My question is this: if the Extreme Aero Package makes more downforce, do you get different spring rates compared to the standard...
I thought it was Interesting that they used a stock (aka 4x4) ride height car for their beauty shots instead of a lowered ringer (I have heard that manufactures sometimes load cars with heavy sand/shot bags to squat them down for photos so they can claim the car is still "stock"). It's like they...
Zo6 with a better 60 foot time does 4 mph less in the traps. Who's your Daddy! Someone in another thread said "NineBall has done more for Viper marketing than anyone at Chrysler." Ain't that the truth. Ralph and the boys need to learn how to player the "ringer" game etc.
I cannot find it on youtube, but last night I saw a Dodge advertisement on TV with Richard Rawlings for zero percent interest on all 2014 Dodges for I think 60 months. Any chance that includes Vipers (or was the 2014 badged SRT)? An $85k Viper with free money for five years would be amazing.
Do you love the United States of America? There is your answer right there. Seriously - take pride in an American-designed and American-built supercar.

Just as a data point, Matt from oCarbon says he is not interested in making similar parts on an aftermarket basis, but he said if he did the retail price would be right about the $3,400 price for the OEM option once you add all the parts pictured together.
Sent a link to this thread to a friend who owns and runs oCarbon that makes carbon fiber trim parts for interiors. Here were his comments: "To answer some questions, yes its real carbon fiber. No its not a 'pure' carbon fiber part, there are probably plastic tabs on the back to hold everything...
