Question for \'98 GT2 owners

I saw on a video that at the Conner Avenue plant, the workers took pictures of each car as it went down the assembly line and then sent the camera with the car to its owner. Did anyone who bought a GT2 get a camera with their Viper? Just wondering.

Re: Question for \'98 GT2 owners

Bought my GT2 used and the pictures from the assembly line were included (although the disposable camera was gone). The picture quality wasn't great since it was a disposable camera, but it was cool to have pictures of your car being built. The other "stuff" passed along as part of the GT2 package was cool too. Everything went with the car when I sold it a couple of years ago.

Yes, our GT2 came with all the goodies - camera and all. The photos are not the bes quality as stated above. I guess they will go with the car when or if I ever sell it.

When I win the next Viper raffle I'll have a Viper Cam for this car also.

Re: Question for \'98 GT2 owners

When the GT2s were being built I made a suggestion that the GT2s be photographed as they came down the line. CAAP took it one step further and put the disposable cameras in the car. The cameras were usually found in the pocket in the back side of the drivers seat.

Just by chance, what number did you own? (this question is for all of you who own one)

I've got GT2 #007 (just like James Bond!), it has the photos- they are pretty grainy and there are no photos that clearly identify it as this particular #007 car.

GT2 #009 here. Some photos better than others. Already have over 130 miles on the car. Good thing I have another Viper that gets actually sees the road.

Dan is joking, probably to pull my leg......the truth:

Ask John Hinckley, or Dan Ross, who made the initial "*** -Cam" suggestion, and lobbied to get it thru. {Hinckley made it easy!}
JRT's Dan Ross spearheaded the project.

As a result, John Hinckley's letter came with the camera, citing a "VCA Officer" who made the suggestion. That meddler was me. These "Assembly Cams" were manually numbered, 000-100 and no two were used the same. CAAP intentionally left 3-4 BLANK in each Cam so that the owner could record the delivery process as well.
That letter encouraged owners to ask for the return of the disposable, numbered camera.

As a result of my suggestion, Dan Ross/John Hinckley sent me Assembly Cam #000 of 100, and a thank you letter. That camera remains intact, and un-processed.
