Looking to buy a used nitrous kit, save some money than buying new. Or if you know what kit and where to buy it new, for a good price, links appreciated.

Email me [email protected] if you might have anything or suggestions.

Also, I had a question. Lets say I have the nitrous on and it sprays on full throttle... and I rev up past 6000RPM after fuel cut (by mistake of course). Since the fuel cuts out... but my TB would still be open and nitrous spraying, would this ruin my engine? NO2 with no fuel?

Also I here you aren't supposed to spray nitrous under 3000RPM, how would this work? If you went full throttle at 2000 RPM wouldn't the nitrous spray?

I don't know of any used ones for sale, usually can find them in the board classifieds or on Ebay. I know Albert Choubler at House of Power or Lee Dove both sell the Nitrous Express kits for a reasonable price.
As for hitting the rev limiter when spraying N2O there is a chance to hurt the motor, you can buy the fuel pressure safety switch for this, which will stop spraying N2O if your fuel system fails or fuel is cut for what ever reason. Me personally, I have never bumped the rev limiter in my car, really does not make any sense to run it that high anyway as your power curve will start dropping off after 5500 RPM, so you are better off shifting.
You are correct you are not supposed to spray under 3000 RPM, you just have to make a conscious effort to start spraying above 3000 rpm's. If you started spraying in 1st gear above 3000 RPM and when through the gears at full throttle you will stay above 3000 RPM with each gear shift.
Other wise you could buy the RPM window switch, which basically does this for you and only sprays when you are in the RPM range specified, also good safety if you miss a gear and go into a higher gear by accident and go full throttle.
Me personally, I don't have the window switch, I think you are just better off keeping it simple and using common sense when spraying. It really is a lot simpler than it seems. I guess all the features and safety items you get depends on what you want to do or use the system for.

Hope this answers a couple of questions.

Re: Nitrous question, and anyone selling ?

I apologize for sounding like an idiot, but why do they call it a RPM window switch, when I think this is mounted in the ashtray area?

Also, how exactly does that work, and do any kits include it? Or where would I buy that? I want to buy any safety precaution available.

Thanks for all the help, and for those that have the kits for sale please shoot me an email [email protected].

The switch in the ash tray is usually your on switch. It just energizes the solenoids. The window switch will come on if the solenoid switchs is on and you are with in the RPM range it is programed for operation. This switch is in series to the one in the ash tray and is automatic (you don't turn it on) You should also make sure to get a bottle warmer. You will need a switch for that as well.

no need to worry about error, let technology take care of it all, just plant the pedal, shift hard and hold on

How can I make sure my kit includes a "window switch" and why do people call it a window switch in the first place? Please excuse my ignorance but I just am very curious about this all.

Re: Nitrous question, and anyone selling ?

The window switch sets the range that the nitrous can flow, given that the WOT (wide open throttle) switch, and fuel pressure switch are on. It's a "window" switch because that switched-on range (say between 3000RPM and 5500RPM) is the open window that nitrous can be used.

Many kits do NOT include a window switch, and if you get a N2O kit from another car it will not have the right window switch for the V10. The window switches are a safety measure that I would not do without. Not only for if you miss a shift, but in case someone turns on the nitrous without the car running (if you don't have a WOT switch either).

The window switch is not a manual switch, like the power on switch. It is a small plastic black box that gets wired into your tach to automatically switch the N2O solenoids on and off.

They only cost around $60, but if you buy a regular MSD unit you need to mail it off to MSD for them to make it run in 2-cylinder mode for the Viper. It takes about a week or so for shipping and $15 for the labor. It is also called an RPM switch.

Obviously if you bought a N20 kit from someone who had it previously installed on a Viper, and it included a MSD window switch, it would have already been setup to work with the V10.

Re: Nitrous question, and anyone selling ?

Take a look in My Gallery. I have a generic drawing on how to hook up the electrical portion of a N2O system. A couple of caviot's. The MSD window switch seems to be +/- 10 percent in accuracy - not good.

With N2O you are shifting at 4600, however, you can hit the window switch (set at 5800) near the end of the quarter or if a shift is missed. You can also put a fuel cutoff switch in the same circuit. The MSD indow switch is not driven by the tach, it is controlled by a coil pack driver - slight yet important difference.

I have the two lines (NOS/propane) if anyone wants them. Price would be 50% of Summit/Jeggs price. They are 4AN at 16 feet. I also have a set of the high flow NOS brand sprayers.

The picture shows a single stage setup, however, the body text discusses a dual stage setup. The Shark nozzle is available in either dual or single stage.

Single/wet = one solenoind set
dual/wet - two solenoid sets

Yes, I have a full kit with mixed products. It came off Trent's car (here in the FOrum) and by the time I was about to install it, I ended up buying my SVS car which already had Nitrous on it, so the kit is still in the same box it was shipped in. The kit is worth about $3600 new, but I paid a little more than half that price (smokin deal) with everything. It's been sitting in my garage now for too long, so I will take a loss on it (even though I have never installed it myself) and let it go for $1,400 + shipping for EVERYTHING. This is less than I paid for it from another forum member, and I never used it! You could have one of the local Viper guys come check out the kit if you want. I don't know much about Nitrous other than how to fill a bottle and flip a switch. This particular kit has the bottle warmer, automatic opener, and all the cool stuff. It's a wet kit, so it has the propane bottle as well. It is listed in the classified section on this site. PM me if you are interested.

Manny
