Well I said screw it and brought my Viper to the rev limiter in first gear to try and get a good 0-60 mph time with my Gtech Pro meter. Car is completely stock, tires included, and the temp was around 60 degrees. I launched at around 2500 rpm with very little tire spin. I did this on a deserted flat public road. Here's the best runs of all 3 cars so far:

Anyone else want to share their experiences?

Why do you have the weight of the car at 4300 lbs? Does that make a difference?

I plug it into the plug-in that's in the center console. I mount it to the windshield. Since I was only concerned with 0-60 I didnt care if it read the rpms correctly, although I went through the set up and it seems to be working correctly. If I remember corretly I had to go through several things before I got the right setting.

Thanks for sharing the times. I like the 3.9. But what this really shows is what kind of ranges one can get ie real world times. This is why the viper vs the z06-----nobody is going to blowing the doors off of anyone. :2tu: :D I guess I have got to get one of those instruments

Chevy has done ok with the Z, but as far as I am concerned, GM just brought it up to a "par" with the viper. But not really surpass it. GM always seems to do this. They just cannot seem to make an all out car the rips the doors off of everything. I hate GM and am looking forward to their new SUV line which will spell disaster for them. Hummer 3 anyone? :eek:

Hello;

I have the G-Tech Pro as well. That thing is very cool indeed!

Try to enter the numbers as accurately as possible. Drive to an Interstate truck-weigh station in your viper with a full tank of gas (or 1/2 tank if you want to cheat a bit) and get an accurate weight.

Then, follow the calibration directions to the letter concerning the vertical/horizontal calibration and pay close attention to detail on getting the rpm's recorded through the full range.

I haven't re-calibrated the unit to include my paxton S/C.

Get one, it's a blast!
