Very well said, Scott. I suspect Kenny's issues reach far deeper than his Viper debacle. In any case, all forums seem to have their clowns and this clown burned his bridges and lost all credibility a loooong time ago.

I am as tired of hearing about this issue as you are. I am not taking sides and obviously Kenny has a hard time explaining himself. Think about it this way, if you had not seen any previous post and it was succinctly stated that 28K was spent on modifications and the car came back five quarts shy of full (antifreeze). What are your thoughts now.

One last thought, I would think this is more than likely a leak, how could Larry have tuned it running hot?

As has been talked about many times here, burping is almost an art. If you don't do it properly, every quart you put in is just going to be pushed right back out when the (still) trapped air bubble expands. No heat? (ding, ding) Rings a bell.

It's an easy fix but example of how much mental thrashing is done when tuning a car by forum.

The oil looks like just oil thankfully - that was one of the first things I checked.

Put a couple more ounces of anti-freeze/distilled water in last night. I will drive it when I get home from teaching school today. It looks like I'm close to getting all the air out. I will keep burping it until no more air is burped. The floor under the Viper still looks clean and dry.

Somehow, regardless of my thoughts, I'm comfortably certain I wouldn't allow them to propagate into 800+ posts on an internet forum.

My comments are based solely of the chosen method of protest...not necessarily the protest itself.

I pulled a sparkplug to see how they looked and it was the same reach as the original spark plugs. I heard that the Jeff Morys Striker cylinder heads used hard to find extended reach spark plugs. I called Jeff Morys and found out Larry Macedo had put the wrong spark plugs in my car which is why he couldn't get it tuned right with the VEC2 and has my car not running right after having it back for 5 months to get it to run right. I pulled some more sparkplugs and they were all the wrong kind of sparkplugs! :evilmad:

Larry Macedo put in Autolite 3922 sparkplugs and the Striker heads require NGK LFR 7AIX sparkplugs.

Spark-plugs for JM Heads

I'm coming out of retirement to respond to _this_ post!

There are basically 3 spark plug choices out there for the JM heads. Since the heads relocate the spark plug placement, the plugs actually have a 1” reach vs. the usual plug with a ¾” reach. or in mm, a 25mm or 26.4mm plug will work.

Here are the plug choices:

For N/A cars (or for throw-away-tuning): the champion RC10YC4 plug. These are about $1.30 each. 1 heat-range colder than stock. They run GREAT. I liked them when doing basic tuning and even a little boost.

For SC cars: NGK LFR 7AIX - 2 ranges colder than stock. Around $7 each

For TT cars: The DENSO IKH27 or even the IKH24 for around $12 each. NGK has some plugs as well that are around $35 each, but that's $350/set for 1 set on a viper... does it pay for dinner and rub your back too? gheesh...

For you, the NGK will be a perfect plug. I tried that in my TT, though, and it was a little too hot a plug. The 27 is a good heat range for a TT (which needs a colder plug due to higher pressures in the chamber).

To buy spark plugs, the best price around is usually www.rockauto.com or sparkplugs.com . you can also call sparkplugs.com on the phone, place and order, and tell them you have a company. if you make up a company name they don’t actually check or anything but they will give you 20% off or more on your plugs. That is actually pretty significant when you buy 20 $12/ea plugs.

So go change those plugs, get the car COMPLETELY re-tuned, and then let’s hear about it in a NEW thread!

The Autolite 3922 does not have enough reach to have the spark be in the combustion chamber!

Yes, they are extremely wrong plugs!

Jeffy Morys is sending me a set of the NGK LFR 7AIX on Monday. :2tu:

My Viper seems to have the only major problem being tuned to run correctly that Jeff Morys has heard about using his Striker heads.

I plan on having everything inspected on my car since so many "small" things have been found to still not be right, and if Larry did not do the small things right, what about the big things?. I still have to add a small amount of distilled water/anti-freeze after each time I drive it and burp it when it cools down. The Chrysler engineers that did the Gen. IV Viper engine said anyone making the power I am making should have stronger than stock connecting rods put in and I didn't see any connecting rods on Larry's Invoice. And there's a lot more small things - some that weren't a problem until it came back from Larry's 5 month try at making his work on my Viper right that need to be addressed.

I agree with Jack 100%.This is just totally unbelievable!!!For 28k ,the car should have arrived without one single issue, period!!!

Larry has not rsponded to tell me what he did while he had my Viper for 5 months on his second chance - September 8, 2006 to February 1, 2007 - so what he did for $28,000 on his first chance - November 14, 2005 to July 1, 2006 - is what is listed below. Not listed is the 500 mile break in he had me do for him plus an oil and filter change at 200 miles. This was charged to me for $500 as part of the Roe VEC2 tuning that was never performed properly. I'm still waiting for the $500 check that Larry promised to send me on August 10, 2006.

A couple of months ago while Larry was working on my Viper on his second chance to make his work on my Viper be right my lawyer tried to call Larry and Scott picked up the phone and said Larry was unavailable to come to the phone. My Lawyer asked Scott about my Viper and Scott said he did not recall my car being there.

Any other shop would charge every bit as much. Complete motor rebuild with Stiker heads, rollcage, halfshafts and the list goes on. Way more than I could afford, but hey, those of you that think performance mods don't come without a price haven't played the game. "Price" = $ and problems

The Jeff Morys Striker heads takes an extended length spark plug.

These photos show the difference between the extremely wrong spark plugs that Larry Macedo put on my Viper and the brand new extremely right spark plugs that should have been put on.

Those photos are taken with the spark plugs on a place mat on the eating bar.

It does make a very nice background which is why I used it.

Another piece of advice - spend less time importing pictures of spark plugs to the internet, and maybe more time on an elliptical machine. That way you can spend maybe another 12-18 months alive looking at the outside of your GTS before you have a senseless and completely avoidable stroke.

Its a car Kenny. Let it go.

Holy Hannah! I didn't use the spark plug recommended by the manufacturer and still produced 766/748rwhp and 848/832rwtq. Good Night! That means had I used the spark plug recommended by the manufacturer, we would have shattered the world record for a Roe that we already established... Arghhh! The irony of it all!

We originally used the VEC2 and Iridium plug, but surpassed those dyno numbers with the AEM and the plugs we chose.
