HELP,Should I lose the Tire pressure sensors ??

My set of I forged wheels just arrived, Vince said the Tire Pressure sensors would work with the wheels. ( bought a 2nd set of TPS's for the new wheels and tires).
Seems the TPS's have to be strapped inside the barrel of the wheel, programed first.
I'm told that if I leave them off the only prob would be a warning light.

Should I do a TPS delete, what probs would it cause, other than not having warning of low tire.

If I install them ( cost more) what is the likelyhood of the bands coming loose while driving. ( seems hokey to me to do this)

Please share you opinions and knowledge reguarding this
BTW installing PS2's on the new wheels I Know I know yall want pics, and you'll have them after the install

I don't get a warning light, ding nothing without my tps sensors on. I have a second set of wheels/slicks that just have valve stems in them and I get no warning signals anything. On my IForged rims though I bought the straps and they work great. I wanted the sensors in when I was streeting the car since the rims arn't designed for heavy track use and I would like to know if im loosing pressure on a long cruise or something. With track im checking pressure after each run so I don't care for the sensors. Hope this helps.

They are a hassle on aftermarket wheels. I put them in my CCW wheels but won't do it on the next set. Only thing it changes is a "LO TIRE" message stays on the digital display on the message screen.

Doesn't affect performance at all. Besides, if these are non-runflat tires you will visibly see when the tire pressure is low. TPS systems came about because people could not visually tell when they had a flat tire on their runflat tires.

Thats strange because I get NO "LoTire" on the lcd at all?

Maybe something in the 2005 year for me or something else?
Wonder if you disconect the battery to reset the computer that since it cann't find the tps to begin with it just leaves well enough alone?

You dont use straps on Iforged wheels.
They have a adapter that screws into inner barrel to valve stem
you then connect tps sensor to that and it holds it in place.
I ve been running it with their adapters for a year now.

yea you can use those too but it's realy hard for the installer with those so I moved to the straps instead. It makes it easier to clear the sensor when mounting the wheel. I helped the shop mount mine and both can be done just ones a lot tougher.

It may be harder, but tie straps break, the adapters for sensors dont.
Ask ILLSMOQ, he used to have straps. One or two broke and he heard his sensor smacking around in the wheel. Not good....

50,000 miles without TP sensors - no issues. Do get the small light though.

the light didn't bother me...it was the chime that was the killer. **** **** **** my wife wouldn't even ride in the car with that chime going off.

I had the straps...they broke a few times. (link------> Got the tpms solutions kit <----link) and been problem free since.

I agree it is VERY, very hard to get the tire over the sensor with the tpm solutions set up, but once they are installed they don't fail.

So far I like the tpssolution adapter idea. any problem with using loctite with the tps nut. can't imagine the damage if the nut came off.

Would the "lo tire" light coming on cause the shop's "computer" not to pick up during emissions? They plug that device under my dash & said that it did not pick up for whatever reason they did not know. Told me to take it back to the mechanic. Any suggestions? Thx.

Lo Tire shouldn't have any effect over your OBD diagnostics plug. Try taking it to another inspection place?

I'm guessing your system is not working properly. Drop one of your tires below 25psi and take it for a ride, my guess you won't get a "lotire"

the **** only happens once on start-up and start-up only. the lotire will display the whole time.

I bought the new sensors and had them installed in the new forgelines......I still have not went to the dealer to reprogram the sensors....its been 6 months

No, I tested that. It works fine when they are on. I actually had a nail in one a while back. Yet when I switch to my track wheels without the tps sensors I get no light or dings. Pretty cool.
