This was an early order. The car went to shipping status ten days ago and was released for delivery last Wednesday. It is being loaded this week and is scheduled to arrive at Woodhouse this Friday. This is a red SRT with black stripes, track pack, touring and red leather.

Woodhouse is installing the MCS double adjustable shocks with remote canisters. In addition, they are installing a black tow eye and black 6-point harnesses. We are also sending them the cord for an ****** radar detector so that when we pick the car up the mirror 12V connection is ready (wired) for the detector.

I am a firm believer in changing the oil/filter on a new car at about 200 miles, this gets rid of all the break-in debris. I have had extremely good success with royal purple oil, therefore, we sent a case of oil to Woodhouse and on the trip back to Ohio we will get the oil changed after the first two hundred miles.

As a side bar, I had a new set of Hoosier drag radials mounted on Gen II five spoke wheels. We would like to be the first with a ten second pass. For those that plan on drag racing, the Hoosiers have a 26" height versus 27-1/2" for the Mickey Thompson drag radials. The Hoosiers should be the better tire because of the high first gear ratio. It will be interesting to see if the stability control senses different tire heights and does something strange. We also have a Raptor shift light ready to be installed when we get the car home.

The long wait is almost over! Great choice of color and options. Hope you are first to hit the 10's!

Nice! Glad to hear someone is setting it up right from the get go. I would do the same, if they had options for the GTS suspension. Do you plan on also hitting the road course, or just the drags?

Out of curiosity, how do you think the MCS setup will do at the drag strip? I would imagine you'd soften the dampers all the way. Wondering if the springs are soft enough to give you good weight transfer.

Looking forward to seeing the black SRT stripes on red, ought to be a nice look.

Let's see some 10's!

I also do a fair amount of autox. Our 97 has Penske's, the MCS shocks should be similar. The correct drag settings are more complex to dial in than the autox. In general the rears have medium rebound and heavy compression.

Congraulations! I am waitng to hear from Mark on the MCS for my car. Let me know how you like it. Your tire height theory sounds good. I think the quicker you can get the car to 4000rpms and keep it there the quicker it will be.

The Mopar (now SRT) high performance filter for 2008 and newer is:

05038041AA (the box is also marked MO-041) in addition, it is marked SRT on the filter in large lettters

This is the part number from the EBAY ad, 0537836AB, that is a filter for a pre 2008 car, the ad is incorrect. I just bought some filters for my 97 and the filter does say VIPER, just like the ad on EBAY. I double checked, my 97, it has the 0537836 filter. Some one should inform the EBAY seller he has the wrong car/filter advertised, plus, the price is high.

what oil filter are you going to use? I found this but wasn't sure if this really fits the 2013?

I initially wasn't going to have them install the MCS shocks. However, I did a search and on the BMW Forum there was an extremely detailed discussion of the MCS product. A company named AST bought Moton, which was the premier shock. The three core people at Moton walked away and started MCS. No one is saying Moton is not a great product, but, universally in the multi-page discussion on the BMW Forum, everyone that changed to the MCS shock, grades it levels better than the Moton's. The list of Racing victories for the cars with MCS shocks is huge and it all happened in relatively short time.

Totally agree with Jack B on changing the oil soon on a brand new engine ...I usually do it at between 300 and 500 miles ..Also , you can get that mopar 05038041AA filter from Viper Parts of America for about $ 10 , even less if your a venom member.....buy a couple so you have it for next time...

Jack, Thats almost exactly the set-up I have ,except the stripes. I changed oil at 500mi. My car is mainly for Road Course use and I am presently trying to get the MCS shocks set-up right along with the proper alignment. Mark has been very helpful and
I'm lucky to live only 5 miles from the MCS Headquarters and they have been helpful too. Please keep us informed of your experiences and have a great time with your new car. Allan

Do you have the shocks installed yet and if so where has the sweet spot been for rebound/bump/front/back? The Penske's on my 97 have 22 clicks of range (versus 15 for the MCS's), but, it seems you have to move the Penske's quite a bit to see change. Most of the posts I have seen indicate the MCS's respond more quickly to minor changes, is that your experience?
