Another fun HPDE day. I had a chance to meet some of the guys from So Cal and a couple of folks from up north.For me this is the best part of track days. Meet new friends,and shoot the $hit with them..
I took the Z06 out in the morning two sessions. I was able to do a 1.44.7 lap time. Which is my personal best. A tenth quicker than my previous time. After lunch I went home and grabbed the ACR. I knew I wasn't going to be able to just jump in and do comparable lap times to the Z06. I had done some suspension adjustment on the ACR shocks. Adjustments that I felt was good after how $hitty the stock settings were.Not to mention the alignment. Sport Cup tire pressures, well instead of looking what others have said on the forum( too many variables). I searched,and searched online,and was able to find a Michelin link. Followed their starting psi recommendations( 25psi cold fronts 27psi cold rears) . The 1st session was just an exploring one. It took 3 laps to get the Cups sticking,and the tire pressure Michelin recommended as a start felt real good. Out on the second session I felt more confident of the setup & car. It's all about confidence
I was able to get within 3 seconds of my Z06 times. I think two to three more sessions. I can best my Z06 times. I really like this car. It was really hot yesterday. The hot weather definitely robbed some HP too..
Both cars 90% of the time I am using just 3rd gear at Laguna Seca.What I like about the ACR is that it has more punch in 3rd compared to the Z06. This is going to be the advantage . Some pics , video of yesterdays outing..
