It's still available....
I was thinking I could find someone to trade interiors.... I think those interiors sold for $5K or more...... Not my style, but some people seem to like them.....
Ok...I found a 1999 Silver RT/10 at a dealer in Missouri..... advertised as only 9,000 miles..... pictures show very well.... it has a Venzano (or similar aftermarket) leather interior that I am not jazzed about... but I am curious what everyone thinks a fair retail value is for this RT...
That is a steal... I continue to struggle with what I want to do... keep the Gen 1 and try to modify with Gen 2 doors (cost upfront and potential for a fail causes me hesitation) or sell the Gen 1 and my Shelby and buy a silver 1998 or 1999 Gen 2.
Why do I find this decision so difficulty?
I am contemplating once again a vehicle change. I grow bored with the Shelby GT500....I've considered trying a door swap on the 1996 RT (I do love the RT/10)....but I am concerned about spending the money for all the parts and it not working..... so I am once again looking at 1999 and 2000...
I've been "eyeballing" this conversion...I think I can fix the fit of the glass to the windshield frame without removing and replacing the windshield frame...... I just need a complete Gen 2 door to mock it up.
It's my Gen 1 has an extra piece where the seat belt attaches inside the door. There is a door anchor point on the bottom door sill, where a "catch" is mounted to the bottom of the door and fits over the "catch"..... I don't have a picture.....and clearly cannot express what I am attempting to...
Ah yes, Canadian Vipers do not have the "passive restraint" door mounted seat belt anchors. In the US the Gen 1 Vipers have the seat belts mounted in the doors and they "latch" next to the console......
I've been contemplating this for my Gen 1 for the last four years. There are very significant differences to deal with.
1) Latches are different, where they latch is moved on the door jamb
2) The seat belts attach to the doors on the Gen 1, versus coming from the rear bulkhead on the Gen 2...
I would find it difficult to call anyone driving a Viper a "ricer"......but the crazy color schemes on a lot of the cool cars seem to be following "ricer" themes....from my perspective........ Maybe at the core of us all is a little "rice"?
That I can accept...but what car company had good quality in the early 1980s....my 1981 Monte Carlo couldn't make it paste 80,000 miles without a new engine...our 1999 Ford Expedition was still running GREAT at 189,000 miles when we traded it on a 2007 Expedition.
Personally, the Black/Red...
I've had 10+ Mustangs over the years..... My first car was a 1970 Mustang and we have two right now, in addition to my Viper. Our 1969 Mach 1 we've had for 16 years, it's a great car, had some quality issues in 1969 like all cars from 1969....... our 2008 GT500 convertible for 3 years...it's a...
Seriously.... you think the Mustang ripped off the idea from the ACR? Have you heard of the Trans Am series from the late 1960's. If anything Dodge ripped off the idea from say....ANYONE IN THE 1960's scene!
Is it that hard to give credit to a Mustang? Really..c'mon.
Where are you located..... I know of a couple for sale in the range you mention...... but don't know where you are. And it shouldn't take much to convince anyone on the merits of V10 vs. V6.......it's just better.....
