I am contemplating once again a vehicle change. I grow bored with the Shelby GT500....I've considered trying a door swap on the 1996 RT (I do love the RT/10)....but I am concerned about spending the money for all the parts and it not working..... so I am once again looking at 1999 and 2000 RT/10s.

So the question. What years did the 998/999 recall cover? If I purchase a 1999, do I need to look for the recall having been completed? Any other issues on a 1999 or 2000? I looked at a nice 2000 on Friday...but I think I want to stay away from black this time. If anyone knows of any nice Gen 2 RT/10s could you post a link?

Thanks,
Lance

998 Recall applied to All 1996, 1997, and 1998 Vipers.

999 Recall applied to ALL 1999 and 2000 Vipers (and possibly a few 2001 Vipers...at least per the opinion of some).

The recall wa basically just riveting a triangle shaped plate to each side of the frame, you are probably better off if it hasn't been done as quite a few places did them backwards and then you couldn't get the oil filter out. Since it was a safety recall, it will be done free of charge till the end of time, no big deal
