Viper X nailed it in his comprehensive list. I'd just reiterate the main problem: not enough HP. Can't DC learn from the Corvette Z-06 intro in 01 that raising HP the next year just pizzes the krappola out of those who sprung for the new model? (That's what DC is hinting about doing.) Put...
An S2000 is a very lightweight car. If it really had in excess of 300 WHP, it would probably run in the twelves, maybe even elevens. That's going to take a perfect launch to beat with an SRT (in the first eighth mile, anyway...)
Get some Kumhos.
Re: They\'re Everywhere
Why not get a nice Gen II (RT or GTS) and have Heffner twin-turbo it! That'd be different, attract lots of attention, and smoke anything on the road.
Just a thought, one near and dear to my own inner demons...;)
I couldn't believe the difference between the Vette club and Viper club! Really shocking as in two years of Vette ownership, all I ever really saw were lazy cruises at the speed limit, requests for more donations to the Vette museum (this bunch of geezers and comb-overs sent every spare dollar...
Some of us may be taking Jon B a bit too seriously. Once you recognize the context for dealing with Jon B., the whole thing comes into focus!
It's just a little "free theater" to go along with your order!
Seriously, Jon B has done a lot for viper owners and I think it's worth putting up...
Bought my 98 in Jan 04 with 16K miles on it. It now has 21K and only failures were AC seals at compressor (replaced) and the clutch slave cylinder - replaced clutch while at it and a new lightweight flywheel (the one in there was aftermarket and warped). I've done a lot of other...
My 98 does the same thing... I've never put more than 14 gallons in the snake. I don't worry about it too much, as I like to keep it half full or more, just to keep from getting low or risk any sediment getting drawn in the filter. (Don't really know if that helps of not, but it seems logical)
The selection of a hard top for Gen 1 and 2 Vipers should be made in light of its intended use. If you plan to road race (most tracks require a hard top - Viper Days does, for instance) you need to get a top that is going to stay on the car at speed. The trunk top is not designed for high...
^^ Bingo! ^^^
I look at them as help against "nuisance" tickets, you know, the one's where they sit and wait around town to nail you for 36 in a 25, 44 in a 35, etc. Those, and I-state travel when there's a pack moving at 75-80 and you need to watch your rear if you're at the back.
I'd never...
I can confirm that it does little good to put a sub in that little compartment... I put a 6.5 inch Rockford Fosgate woofer in there, replaced the amp in the trunk with a bigger Alpine, the head unit with a newer Alpine, and put Boston Accoustic pros in the doors. More than a grand later, it...
Congrats!
You'll never be able to re-enter the Vette world again. Somehow, pledging a tenth of your income to that mausoleum in Kentucky will seem lame to you now...
