What code was setting due to the nitrous blast? Is it a torque error or a sensor going out of range due to pumping nitrous into the manifold behind the MAF sensors?
Knowing the code code point the way to a fix.
The Antenna is on the glass... look very low near the passenger side tweeter and you can usually see a wire leading to a snap (similar to the snap on top of a 9v battery) that allows the antenna amp to connect to the windshield line.
It sounds a bit like either the amp is disconnected from...
Its a bit more than a standard car windsheild because the FM/AM antenna is on the glass... but ~$500 at a good glass shop should be about right. The GEN I/II windsheilds were a lot more because that had a lot more wraparound at the edges. The GEN III/IV is fairly normal curvature.
You'd probably want to stick with your 712AA level part... the 667AC is the 2001 part but a fairly early version. The latest 2001 part which had many MIL light causing issues were fixed by via reflashes and the latest 2001 part numbers were 667AE and 667AF (AF being a service flash for knock...
Use the sticker itself... the glue left behind will tack off onto the main sticker... and yes a razor works well to get an edge started. Do it out in the sun and it peels way easier than if in a cool garage.
A touch of "Goof Off" on a rag will finish the job nicely if you have sticky that...
Any ideas for "Tech" Sessions?
Would anyone be interested in deep diving engineering of say the multitude of black boxes on the cars? PCM / BCM etc...
Obviously things like a ACR tuning session would be awesome...
Maybe a flash update booth? Get your car updated by the factory... no...
Well 592hp would be if you assumed the car made 600 metric HP and then converted to SAE...
But that's not the case.
It makes 600hp (550 ft-lbf/s) which is actually 608.322 metric horsepower. They must have done the math backwards....
Make sure you are using a scan tool that is compatible with 2008 CAN standards... the older code scanners will not support the Viper PCM.
I would hope "autozone" scanners would have latest software, but there is no way to be sure.
Keep in mind the 2008 engine converted to all metric bolts/nuts now... so don't go using american wrenches...
As for the header bolts
It's a M8-1.25x30
Part No. 06508687AA
Warmer weather equals two things... stickier tires and lower power... but that adds up to safer driving...
The opposite happens in the fall... looser tires, and cool intakes the cars "feel" stronger... part because the cool air helps, and partly because the tires break loose more easily.
The instructions are in your owners manual... page 20 of the 2008 book... search for "programming additional transmitters"
You have to have at least one working transmitter in order to be able to do it yourself. Otherwise it's a dealer trip.
Keep in mind the new transmitter needs to be...
That's pretty normal... you'll note that 03 was the only year that the oil pressure guage only goes to 80... all other years go to 100 on the guage. And they use the same engine / oiling.
It takes like 5 minutes to program a set of wheels to a car... same system on the 08's as is on the 03-06's... You have do it with a DRBIII...
The reason you don't see a light immediately after changing wheels is that it takes 7 key cycles (trips) before it will declare the "programmed" set...
The Power supply for the Rear O2 heaters and the Reverse Lockout solenoid share the same fuse. So if you short the rear O2 heaters out you also lose the Rev. lockout And Skipshift solenoid.
Just leave it unplugged... alarm still arms and protects the other zones... but at least no more wind blowing alarm set offs...
Dumbest switch location ever... right in the middle of the bow of the hood... it should be down near the latch... then the heat and contraction won't cause the...
It's more like 10x the force... 5lbs with the solenoid working... and about 50lbs to overcome the "lock-out" spring. Sometime you need to put your left shoulder into the door trim in order to push hard enough to the right to get it over into the reverse gate with a malfunctioning solenoid.
2008 tanks are smaller than the 2003 through 2006 due to regulatory changes. Again thank your politians...
The reserves are generally set to give you 50 miles after the low fuel warning goes off... so if you figure a average city drive might be 15mpg... you'd need over 3 gallons reserve to...
The six disc radio went out of production... there was two options... no radio at all or the single disc with mp3 capability / NAV radio option.
There are probably a few backup parts available for order if someone wanted to chuck in a six disc changer.
JTEC is an acronym for Jeep / Truck Engine Controller...
The viper computer from roughly 1996 to 2006 was very similar to the unit used to run many of the engines at Chrysler in that time period. It did however undergo several iterations during that decade, so some look outwardly different...
