Yes, something like that. A bunch of 2001's have pumps that weren't manufactured correctly by the supplier. At least that is what I have read and heard.
It's rude, crude, hot, loud, and looks great while being great on the track. I love it! What other car brings those attributes to the table for under 100K?
It was 2 hours of labor at Dodge to install the waterpump. I am guessing labor rates vary from State to State. The waterpump prices keep creeping up so if you have a 2001, you may want to buy the part now for when it fails.
Last week I was caught by the dreaded water pump failure on my 2001 GTS. Had all the symptoms I read about on the board so I called Mr. Tator. Thank you Wizard for getting me the parts so fast. :headbang:
Because of all the closures our surviving local Dodge dealership here is very backed...
Call JonB at Partsrack. I remember him advertising a Red racing GTS for sale a while back with a Comp Coupe wing on it.
He may know what was done to the suspension to make it work.
The Autoform LeMans wing and Front facia/splitter is a choice I'd consider. Not sure how track tested it is, but I don't believe it requires suspension changes. However don't take my word for it.
Happened to me too last year. Changed to Motul 600 and that went away. I also second the cool down lap advice, drive slow and don't use your brakes if you can during that last lap.
Don't know about that kit in particular but I have SRT 14" up front and 13" in the rear with stock 18" wheels. Had to use spacers and new lugnuts for the wheels to clear the calipers. All came in Dave's Big Brake Kit.
