have you pulled the oil pan off yet to clean it out?If so place a block of wood between the cran and the side of the block.Or you can pull the dust cover off the front of the trans and have someone hold a pry bar between the teeth on the flywheel and the bell housing. Both work very well.
the timing cover gasket won't blow smoke. It just fills the crankcase with water. With the heads off the car you can't check the gasket. With the heads and oil pan off it doesn't take long to pull the timing cover off.Much easier now than later.
if you did find anything with the head gaskets and you had a crankcase full of coolant I would also pull the timing cover off of the front of the engine. If the timing cover gasket fails it will dump coolant into the oil pan and make you think you lost a head gasket.Somewhat common on the earlier...
All the yellow vipers sticker at $85000 plus. That does not mean that is what they are going to sell for.The one I have in stock can be had for less than sticker.
Re: Removing front cross member....any gottcha\'s?
Never had to remove the ac line to get the crossmember out.You can move the wires on the drivers side and gently pry the crossmember up and out from the drivers side not the passenger side where the a/c lines run.
Hampstead NC to Valdosta GA.And back pulling a trailer.1040 miles round trip in 17 hrs. Also about 70 miles north of Madison Wis to Hickory NC with a stop in Knoxville TN. Driving a Toter home with a 36 ft 3 cars trailer.over 1100 miles with stops for fuel and droping a car off 21 hrs.And...
The RT has a panel to remove the fuel tank.If you need to take the tank out of a GTS then you need to cut out the panel to remove. You don't need to take the tank out of a GTS to remove the fuel pump but you do on a RT/10.
Adam, there is a access panel i the center of the rear deck. You reach it by pulling the carpet back on the deck right behind the seats and you will find a plate with 4 rivets holding it i place.this will give you access to remove the fuel pump module.

Pull the plugs and check them for oil deposits. If they are heavily coated then you may not have valve stem oil seals.
This is a easy fix that does not require the engine tobe pulled out to fix it.

There is a tsb stating what is factory fill in all DC cars. And it calls for the ATF 4 in the 03 viper. This info also came from one of the viper instructors.i have seen this twice already on cars that have had the C-31 recall performed.Installed a new pump and flushed the system and all is...
Did you have the cooling fan module recall performed yet?If so find out what tyoe of fluid they put back in when they refilled the system. The recall states to use power steering fluid #4883077 when it should have ATF-4 trans fluid in it.They will need to flush the system and maybe replace the...
The speedo does in fact run through the ABS system. So you can put in whatever gear you like and it won't effect the speedo. Now if you change tires thats is a different story. The ABS is calibrated to the rev per mile of the OEM tire.To give a accurate speedo reading.
Where was the car when it was broken into. Was it inside of there shop or did they leave it outside in the parking lot?I think this makes a difference.Inside they are responsable where as if it was in the parking lot it would be left up to your insurance.Even though they should have known better...
