Damn, that was funny :2tu:.....you should run for politics because you'd have no problem explaining and convincing the public that the deficit would be gone in 18 to 24 months.
The 7:12 ACR Ring record was luck. The weather sucked, one of the cars broke and we ran out of time. If it wasn't...
Just so you are aware of what a ALI certification actually is....the lift manufacturers came up with a certification process that they claim to follow. Think of the fox watching the hen house. This does not mean it is a bad thing, but it has nothing to do with any government agency, osha, etc...
Makes me think that Vipers are magnetically attracted to the passenger side sidewalk curb or ditch. What you are seeing there is driver error 99% of the time.
Cheers,
George
Thanks for posting the "rest of the story", I'll read it later tonight after work. I did read the very first post of what happened.....here's the thing. The guy claims he couldn't get the system to lock out. At that point he starts going up and down (and never bothers moving the 1996 Vette out...
Great idea, but I know that on my track days I don't do just one or two fast laps. I've posted this before, but I want to know how my performance car can handle at least 10 laps in moderate heat....at least 3 or 4 sessions in one day.
That will show the real bones of a car....anything weak...
I'm not sure how the lift being bolted down would keep the car on the lift if it fell off the bridge jack....I'd have to give that some thought. Also, if the cable snaps what happens to the lift if its bolted down versus not bolted down? You kind of got me thinking.
I do know that on lifts that...
I just got off the phone with Sergio and confirmed that TA actually stands for "Track Aire"
As we speak I'm having my decal vendor produce new "Track Aire" decals to replace my SRT-10 decals so I don't feel left out. If anybody wants some, just let me know.
Cheers,
George
Very nice work and outcome. Now that you have the Viper done, make a Corvette mold and go into business selling these....I'd say there is a market for the guy that wants to tow but does not need or want a big enclosed trailer.
Cheers,
George
Interesting that Ford would hire seniors that will in all probability will never consider buying a Ford GT while SRT puts Ralph and Dick W in a Gen 5 to drive around the USA......I wonder which would give a better and immediate feedback? I really don't think a group of seniors would have come up...
Did you guys read the very end of the article that reports they also tried a set of slicks on the car and ran a 1:30.78? And that is without the huge aero wings that the Gen 4 ACR had on MSPC's.
Overall, wow, just wow. If and when an ACR variant ever becomes reality, with sticky R compound...
My kid just set up my full face helmet with a go pro stick on mount on the chin and one on the right jaw side. Worked perfect for seeing the tach/speedo at a half mile roll race we did a couple of weeks ago. For the speeds you're running, a helmet might not be a bad idea anyway. :headbang...
Mark,
Since you have experience with the Gen 4 ACR, a couple of my friends that race cars tell me that the front splitter of a race car should be able to easily handle the weight of somebody standing on it (say a 185 lb man). Do you think the Gen 4 ACR splitter would be able to handle that...
I would have bet money that the new Gen 5 on R-compound tires could not beat the Gen 4 ACR's time because of the lack of the aero aids. I know that Laguna Seca is not a super high speed track, but still, the aero has to help.
Overall, I'm very impressed and hopefully SRT will be coming out...
Not sure it has a true DCT, article lists a sequential trans (which might be even more fun).
Can't decide if I like it, need to see it in person in different lighting conditions. Nice find.

4 out of 5 domestic abuse offenders prefer cars like the Viper since their victims are within easy reach and can't duck out of the way because of the close confines. Chris Brown really is a king size pu$$y.
He'll flip out and let his fist fly again....only reason we know of the Rhianna...
Unfortunately, that is probably not the F car they are going to use as a metering stick....look at the power and weight of the F12, much more realistic as to what we are up against.
Cheers,
George
Probably not radar, but laser.
If the cop doesn't hit your radar detector with the laser, it won't go off. Not like radar where you can put the detector on the seat of your car and it will still read the stray waves.
Then again, you might have a defective detector.

I don't think that will work on the Gen 4, earlier Gens yes. One of the Viper tuners will probably confirm.
I went with the Mopar PCM because I have lower gears and a full race ACR-X exhaust (no cats) and when coming to a slow stop in gear, the car sounded like small shots were going off from...
I had the ACR-X headers with high flow cats installed on my 09 without the Mopar PCM. Ran without a CEL for around 2100 miles. Then it would pop up, especially at times when I was stuck in traffic, etc. If I kept the cars rpms up and driving at normal speeds, not too much of an issue.
I...
Yeah, I kind of agree with you, but what seemed different was as the suspension unloaded the tire seemed to gain negative camber. I'm not sure what the camber curve is on the new Gen 5, but most cars I've worked on go positive camber as the suspension droops. I've watched a lot of the ACR-X...
Just watched the awesome review that Motorweek did on the new Gen 5. I think those guys actually get it.
One thing I noticed was how much the passenger side rear tire was coming off the ground when making right turns, not completely off the ground but I would guess about 50% of the outer...
Well, had a good workout with Sergio today (Sergio Pasquale, my Fiat mechanic). I asked him what he thought about the Viper not exceeding the F12's horsepower to weight ratio. He felt that although this was true nearly a year ago, a lot has changed since then. From a financial point of view...
