    Driveshaft Safety Loop?

Take a look at the pic of the loop and now imagine that the driveshaft breaks towards the rear of the car rather than front. you are still toast. JD

    Driveshaft Safety Loop?

That one above looks like the BMR Fabrication piece. Having snapped a drive shaft, I can tell you that having a loop is cheap insurance. The other think I can tell you is that having that loop doesn't guarantee that you won't splatter the underside of the car. I didn't have a splatter happen...

what do you guys think.....is it worth it?

paxton SRTs are a dime a dozen. those do look like HREs to me, BTW. my only concern: the 'wear' on the driver's side seat... that happens at 13k, not 3k miles. looks a little odd to me. but maybe i'm just paranoid. car is pretty sexy. i'd lay on it. ;) JD

My HELL, Thank You Doug Levin!!!!!!!!

Doug is definitely da' man. and one of the few true friends that the viper community has. He knows more about these cars than _anyone_ yet he lays low. Doug was the inspiration for me learning all about vipers (mechanically) and i credit him with teaching me (and schooling me in some cases)...

Need some opions... RSI or ART?

What Bob said. Except one thing: Tuners love to talk. But they don't get paid to just talk. Pick the shop closer to you and rather than just calling people to gather info, call the one that you are most likely to go to and talk to them and let them earn your business. Dan's a great guy...

510 or 522? Which is better?

Back to the original question: you should be asking yourself not what size, but billet crank vs. non. you see, 510/522/whatever is achieved either through a new crank or an offset grind of the stock crank. and some cranks will only grind so much. that plus an overbore (assuming as much as...

510 or 522? Which is better?

Not Larry. There are several reputable engine builders out there. If you are serious about it, figure out your combination first and then interview shops.

    New Flash Programmer or VEC3?

Since that's about the closest i'm going to get to an apology, here's the info you want: The VEC2/3 can modify timing curves, fuel curves, activation of a secondary something like a shift light, water/meth, additional fuel, fuel pumps on a paxton set-up (hint... that would allow you to remove...

For Sale 2005 SRT-10 Viper Con. Built Motor and Many Upgrades!

Yeah... I read it. but even for a built motor, seems excessive if it never had the 'stuff' on it. there is nothing to tune it with on the car, so the A/F doesn't have a lot of value. aka: you can't do much with it. That's ok. I like the car but for that price it needs to be more power than...

For Sale 2005 SRT-10 Viper Con. Built Motor and Many Upgrades!

Silly question - Why do you have an Air Fuel gauge if the car is stock and was never tracked? doesn't make sense to me out in dumb-southerner land... JD

The other 'fusable link' on these cars - Broke mine!

It broke at the weld. Strangely, welding 101 dictates that a good weld is stronger than the base material that is being welded. There is a race shop up the street that can turn me around a steel one in a day. But I'm open to the carbon fiber idea. any idea on the cost as well as where i...

The other 'fusable link' on these cars - Broke mine!

In the past I'd always slipped the clutch so the drive shaft was never really abused. i've been launching harder these days. yes, there was a driveshaft safety loop. thank goodness. but the driveshaft broke behind where the safety loop was so that if the shaft had spun around a lot, there...

The other 'fusable link' on these cars - Broke mine!

I never thought that the drive shaft would be the fuse-able link on the car. But on mine it was! I had some of the most supportive help at the drag strip for the day. Long before I broke these guys were helping me with everything. It was a day to learn and I learned the limits of the...

Gen. III heads/intake onto Gen. II block?

BTW - the header bolts mount differently on the gen3's also. forgot to mention that. they are flipped... such that the pattern on the gen2's is up / down / up / down... and the gen3's is down/up/down/up... details. JD
