    Viper Top Speed

    I saw on the cover of a Motor Trend issue a ferrari 550, a Corvette, a silver Viper and some other cars, I think the story was named "Top Speed Shootout" or something like that. I saw the cover on MT TV, Just wanted to know the results of the shootout, if someone here has the issue. Thanks.

    I have read on many posts here, on this site, that there is a documented 11.7x sec. 1/4 mile Viper pass but so far I haven't see any proof of that.     ACELLR8, Thanks for your answer, yeah I know 911 Turbos are fast as hell, I belive that in Motor Trend's last "High-Speed Shootout" test they got an 11.92 @ 116mph from the 911 Turbo. They had a Viper GTS ACR that ran 12.19 @ 119 on that same test. And thats exactly my point no "major" mags...

    Why 505cid?

    Excuse my ignorance but why built a new engine to get 50 horses? I think that 488ci is BIG enough to get waaayyy past 500hp. P.S. Not that I dont like the idea of a 505ci big block V-10 under the hood I'm just curious.
