Gen 3 10 spoke rims, what they worth

I also have a set just returned from CalChrome with their black chrome finish. They look so awesome I'm not even sure I want to sell them but for the right price.... They are still in the CalChrome boxes. Never mounted. Center caps were also black chromed. TPS included. Someone make me an...

    Gen IV fuel tankl size

I think I remember being told by an SRT guy that the tanks were physically the same size but the Gen 4 has reduced capacity due to something with the EVAP emissions system.

Just took a few pictures of my car

Good looking pics. I wish I had talent to take photos like that.

Gen V close to the 10's

Sounded it like he hit the rev limiter on the first run about 1/2 way down the track.

There are zerk fittings on the upper and lower control arms - front and rear of car. They should be periodically greased.

    ACR Stoptech Rotor Hat Maintenance

ACR Stoptech hats are not black they are gold anodized. Aftermarket Stoptech rotors come with black hats. The gold ACR hats appear to hold up well. I track my ACR and they look fine.

    Steering Wheel Gauge pod

I tried to put one on the A pillar but there is very little clearance between it and the steering wheel. Ended up using the steering wheel pod. It worked on but I ended up having to silicone it on as double face tape would not hold it down.

Road noise - what is normal?

Pilot Sports? Do you mean Pilot Sport 2s (ie PS2s) or do you mean Pilot Super Sports (ie. PSS)? I think they called the tires on the Gen 2 Pilot Sports MXXX or something. I have PS2s on my Vert and PSSs on my ACR. Both are quiet enough that I don't notice any tire noise.

How to get the exhaust surround GLOSS black?

Just painted one side of mine (exhaust moved and burnt the paint off). I used Semi Gloss Engine enamel (good to 500 degrees, I hope that's enough). Looks good but alas I have not taken any pics.

spark plug non fouler size for o2 sensor?

Wow, I would have kept the cats intact and simply replaced them with a pipe. They are expensive to replace if you ever need them to pass inspection. Well maybe you could find a used set somewhere.

Battery recommendation - Optima Interstate vs. Diehard Platinum

Depends on which type of Braille battery you chose. Some have fairly signficant cranking capacity, others are very light weight and rather small. The small ones might not have the cranking amps you need on a cold day.

Battery recommendation - Optima Interstate vs. Diehard Platinum

Braille makes several types of batteries including Lithium Ion. They are very light weight but the technology still makes me nervous.

    What is this thing?

Some of these things operate with Blue Tooth. Power them up and they connect to your detector via Blue Tooth. I have one (K40 I think) that would do this if I had their brand of radar detector. I don't I have a V1. It does trigger a small LED on the dash if it sees laser though.

Battery recommendation - Optima Interstate vs. Diehard Platinum

Never had any good luck with the Optima. Premature failure, like the whole battery was fine one minute and dead the next. Some kind of internal fault. Replaced under warranty but that's the only battery I've ever had have replaced under warranty. I have a DieHard Platinum in my ACR but boy...

New issue with Paxton on Gen3

Listen to Mark. I put high flow cats on my Paxton 06. Had it dynoed before and after. Didn't even have headers. After the high flows A/F got into the 12s, dyno guy said "that's good". It wasn't, engine blew later, rods through block, not good. Car likes mid to high 11s in A/F. Get a...

One more thing, some groups like PCA require that you have your car teched ahead of time at a reputable facility (like a car dealer).

    Racing Advice

Most groups that know what they are doing would require, for a convertible, a rollbar that passes the broomstick test (as I describe above), a helmet that meets their standards (probably SA2005 or later), proper clothing, and arm restraints. Check with the group before you sign up. No point...

high flow cats on a gen 4.

Just added ACR-X headers, high flows, and Mopar PCM to my ACR. Heading to the track this Saturday to see if I've picked up any time. Already had ported intake and ported heads.

COM (comscc.org) out of Mass runs events at NJMP, Watkins Glen, Mt. Tremblant, NHMS, and a bunch of other tracks. Instructors for novices. Once you get signed off there is also a timed competition where you run solo against the clock. Pretty fun. Also check out NASA. Hard to tell from...

    Woodhouse First Edition

I must be in the minority. When I saw the B/W and the Stryker Red cars at VOI I thought if I buy one it definitely will not be the Stryker Red, B/W is the way I'd go. Now my wife likes the Stryker Red and I would admit that the prototype they had in the hotel lobby looked better than the...

    Unknown Fuse

My guess is that the car used to have an aftermarket stereo which the previous owner took out when he sold the car. I've done the exact same thing myself several times. Reinstalled the original OEM radio and took out my Kenwood to use in the next car.

Sneak Peak - New Race Rotors

When you say fatigue will set in on the hats when the car is tracked regularly, is this true for both the Stoptech hats and yours? or are your hats less suseptable to fatigue given they are made out of what appears to be billet?

Sneak Peak - New Race Rotors

That is entirely true. This is the reason that the ACR-X has more surface area for the pads and rotors. It is not because they increase braking; they reduce fade. As fade increases more brake pedal pressure is necessary to compensate. Now having said that, I've never experienced fade in my...
