VOI is a Big party! And the best Party I have attended!
We have missed the last two because our son is in school(2nd grade this year). As long as they are family unfriendly we will pass. But the four we attended were fantastic!
Shopping - great place to see and buy anything(shirts to...
Chuck, hope you fine some extra cash.
You are on target about the entry fee helps keep those who only see the glass half empty. At VOI I have never met the skeptical and negative element of society. Cuz if your pockets are light VOI will have to wait until your boat comes-in.
The track event is expensive for Dodge. But to make this an al la cart menu would be unmanageable IMHO. And as Paul stated Dodge is paying Millions of dollars over the modest amount paid by participants. I have attended four (4) VOI's and they were all fantastic.
Have precipitated in 8-10...
Hi Dennis,
VOI is a big party for Viper owner. It is not an open track event! But it is a great event! Dodge spends millions of dollars on this event. Your payment for the event is a nominal portion of the total cost.
Why is it expensive? Meals are provided in areas exclusive to VOI...
CDI built a motor with 600 with cats. Stock throttle bodies were evaluated with larger ones while on CDI's engine dyno and larger T-bodies resulted with a 1 hp loss. I consider that no change as the dyno likely can not repeat within 1 hp at 600.
Heads were ported and polished, intake...
FYI one Issue with drilled rotors is cracking around the holes.
If you are buying drilled/slotted rotors for an illusions of high performance rotors then cost vs looks may be the guiding light.
But if you want stopping power use the stock rotors with better brake pads and rotor cooling...
Slotted and or drilled rotors. Not sure if there is any real benefit to braking.
Lot of theory but pro and con. I would not waste money on slotted or drilled rotors. I have the StopTech Big Brake kit on my ACR, that was a braking improvement.
The AC Cobra was my dream car when I was young. I enjoyed racing (Drag, Sprint Cars, Indy 500 Etc.) . My first car after college was a 1966 Fairlane 500GT. In 1969 I was ready for a new ride, I saw a used 1967 Cobra but instead bought a new 69 T-top 427 3x2 Corvette. My first big mistake...
How will a driver go faster on a drag strip after mastering heel to toe(blip the engine to match RPM when down shifting).
"All the magazines got 12.4-12.7 at 114-116 mph from bone stock C5Z06's. Is it a coincidence that 12.4-12.6 is what most C5Z06 drivers usualy fall between once they have...
Kaya,
You are correct, the most important factor is the quality of the mechanic. Viper Tech's are typically the best tech's at a dealership. Vipers are like most cars mold nuts screws and mechanical commonsense.
The commercial lift suppliers test their lifts to various safety standards. I know one of the test requires cutting the cables while loaded to the max. rated capacity. :2tu:

Keep my Ram SRT10 QuadCab on the lift with Vipers under the Ram. The runway is adjustable 37" to 43" and safety stops are every 4".

More HP and and an Al frame with more carbon fiber components to lose weight.
No question I would not buy a Vette. And for sure a the winner of a race between a ZO6 vs a GenIII Viper is more a refelection of the Driver. More Viper HP will make the launch even more difficult. The Viper is for...
Most important everyone is okay. Sad to have one crashed, but it can be replaced.
A good friend wanted to borrow a Viper to pick up his son from the Airport. FYI, he owned a body shop and offered to give me a check for the car before he took it.
I said no deal, declining his offer...
