I tested the alternator with a voltage meter yesterday and this morning.
Yesterday right after start up at idle voltage was 13.3, with A/C on it jumped to 13.4-5 with A/C off. Went for a spin, getting on it some and afterwards reading was 13.4. Test and drive were done mid day lunch time...
I plan to call Dan but wanted to test m alternator first.
Will a volt meter give me an accurate measure of the alternator as Id hate to have to pull it with the paxton on there and get it bench tested.
Car is a paxton GTS 2000 with AEM and fuel system.
Issue: While out driving this past Friday and making two stops at stores i noticed voltage was at 12 after the second stop. Drove car home but on the way the volts drop to the yellow and then between the yellow and red line. Car never died...
I recently used them. Purchased there triple fuel hanger and accompanying parts. Also had them tune my car. No issues at all from my standpoint and Will was always willing to answer any questions I had.
I had the aem uego gauge in my previous viper. Worked fine for me but didn't use for tuning. Just ordered the same gauge for my current viper but wish I had got the serial datastream aem gauge as it monitors 19 diff channel. Reason I didn't because it's not widebrand just reads of the aem.
Good tires help alot and most who do extensive NA builds keep the car because if cost. Those NA builds can run double and triple the cost of FI. Not to mention I think an NA car can be beat on a bit more then FI which leads to those with FI dumping them early.
It's not the car but the driver. That's a solid 10sec car. Hard part geting being able to drive it there. Keep practicing and keep us posted after ur runs with the lower tire pressure.
What rpm are you launching and shifting at?
Talk with Dan Lesser, DC perf or Sean Roe. The SCT tune will provide gains in the range of 20-30rwhp about the same for Tq. The plus is more power under the curve and a more well mannered car with all around better performance.
