Re: chromed gen II wheels, who\'s done it?
Can someone who has the 18" post a pic? I want to get it done too but not sure how it will look. One of mine is getting a milky white color, which is not too good.
I could tell mine was going bad by how long it took to heat up. The more deposits on it from leaded gas / octane booster the longer it takes to give acturate readings after startup. I changed it out when I felt I was waiting too long for it to warm up.
Re: TRI STATE MEMBERS, Mark Your Calendars For The Run Out East III 4/23/05
It was a good time last year, you forgot to mension the F40 that was there too. Spring is coming fast... I hope I have my car off of jack stands by then. I need to find some time to wrench.
It is very funny that you think you could be rubbing in your new purchase to a bunch of owners. Why would we be jealous or hate on you as we all already have one? Owning a used $45k car is not really that hard. There are three kids under 20 in my town with Z06's. Two of them were bought...
Jim, you got a serious deal, as that is less than I paid for my ROE kit! You could not have bought the kit from a more stand up guy. Enjoy it, as many people would have killed to get there hands on it for even thousands more.
Aren't those numbers a big low? I would expect closer to 585 out of a 8psi package. I am hoping for over 600 with the water injection but maybe that is being too optimistic.
Wow, I am so impressed... Snore... If you want to impress people on this board post a picture of your house, and if it is huge, I will send you a cookie. If it is you parents house, no cookie for you.
I live in NJ and yes it is retarded that they make useless jobs. Most new stations have pay at the pump so it is truly pointless. With that said I have never had an attendant pump my gas in the Viper. I always insist on doing it myself. I have never gotten a hard time about it because they...
Sean, It sounds like running straight water is a viable option for people running lower boost. I will be running 8psi with stock heads, headers, rockers and fuel pump. Would I be a good candidate for running just water? Would I only loose 1 or 2 degrees advance versus running the 50/50?
In talking with the helpful people at Roe they will be offering an indicator light as an option. I believe one of the biggest differences to users is that their system uses a much bigger reservoir than the Snow kit.
Bob D, Those numbers are great! I assume you have 1.7's and headers to get...
ab, What % is your water / meth mix? Do you have any concerns about the corrosion in the heads / TB's / Blower? I know I am getting it but I wish I could use straight water.
So that is what I will sound like approaching... The twin screw sounds awesome! It is nice to know what it sounds like from the outside as I am always driving. Thanks for sharing, very nice.
Re: Since I am not too fond of the new SRT-10 coupe...I think I am going to
I would say it is not so much the cost of the nuts and bolts but where they are located. The Viper may be one of the easiest modern cars to work on. The clamshell makes everything easy to get to. Now compare that to...
ab, have you driven or been in a Testarossa? If so you know what you are getting into. If not, they are very, very dated in the interior. I was a big Testarossa fan until I got a ride in one. It was very slow and really crude inside. Not to mention I pulled 3 car lengths in just 3rd gear...
I have both sets of heat shields but I will try to bend my 96’s to fit over the newer manifolds, as they look a bit better.
opnwide, I understand the theory behind what you are saying but I think most people see an increase in HP with just a catback versus the stock 2.5" exhaust...
Ron, thanks for the information I did not even notice that I needed new bolts until you mentioned it. I will pick up all new header bolts and new gaskets. For some reason my car has non-metal gaskets which do not look like they should be re-used.
I picked up the headers at the right price...
I know that the A/F readings will lag a few 100 RPM's if I use the rear sensors but I would be ok with that. Just think about when Jason Heffner tunes his monster cars he uses a tail pipe sniffer. That is even farther down the exhaust and will produce even more lag but he makes it work.
In a...
Re: The Z06 isn\'t the only new competition!
Russ, I still do not know where you are getting your information. "Gutted race cars" like the Titan car are 2800lbs. Supra's weigh about 3350 and I believe a GTS is about 3250.
I doubt this will be a high volume car, which will make it easy to...
Does the car care if I disconnect the rear O2 sensors? I am guessing they were not used until later years. I ask because, I want to use those bungs for widebands if the car is not really using those sensors. If they are, I will have a couple bungs welded on my collector. Thanks
Re: The Z06 isn\'t the only new competition!
Russ, I am not sure where you are getting your numbers, but the MKIV did not weigh 3750. That car is ~100lbs heavier than a Viper GTS. Also remember, that car was introduced in 1993 and this is going to come out 15 years later. If they can not...
Thanks Ron, I am about to order my mufflers today and want to buy some reducers so it can mate to my stock collector. From what you are saying, if I get a complete exhaust manifold setup including cats, from a newer Gen II it will work with whatever I buy today. Is the stock collector 2.25 or...
I am adding some custom 3" mufflers in my side sills and I was thinking about changing my exhaust manifold out to at the same time to ones from a later model Gen II. In doing this I will have to purchase a reducer from my 3" muffler to my exhaust manifold collector. My question is: do non-cast...
