The weight is not much of a factor as the Viper is at most 100lbs lighter. I have weighed them both on the same scale on the same day.
As for the pulls it sounds like he pulled 2 cars on you every time aside from when he was in the wrong gear. To have you jump out due to torque and him...
My thoughts exactly! :2tu: This is a huge motor upgrade with more dispacement, variable valve timing, higher compression and individual coil packs. Those four things alone will make in confusing if it is called a Gen 3. It just makes it easier when discussing the car.
Gen 3's had a 4 model...
Re: Need verification on LC-1\'s to VEC3
Logging with the VEC puts all the parameters on one graph. Boost, RPM, AF and anything else you want to see that the VEC will record. Also the LC does not come with RPM logging so the AF graph by itself would not be too useful.
600hp, twin disk clutch, better tranny and people are still complaining? This car will run high 120's in the quarter bone stock. What more can you ask for? :bonker:
Why would they redesign the coupe that has been out only 1 year? That would be the worst return on investment...
I drove it just before Thanksgiving and it was no fun as it was spinning all over the place. I am not a fan of driving when I can't put my foot down and stick.
Re: Time for Oil and Filter
The Mobil 1 filter is the best one made. I read an extensive article where they tested every known filter and Mobil 1 was the best. They said other brands were very good as well at 1/2 the cost, but I stick with Mobil 1 in all my cars including the Vette and Viper...
You are test driving a Viper and you tell us about trunk space. :bonker:
The car is not for you and it is a good thing you did not buy it as you do not understand it. If you are looking for a comfortable car with average performance you already own it. I use my C5 as a daily driver and it...
You will be gaining about 100rwhp with 5psi. Only you can make the decision as to whether it is worth it. If you are going to do it, add the W/M injection as it makes a big difference. I am running 10psi and for the money it can't be beat. :nana:
Re: Its Here! - Update
Great comparison between your old and new car. Just for clarification did your Gen2 have W/M injections? How would you compare the SOTP power between the cars. Which "feels" faster to you and passengers?
Very interesting write up, thanks again. :2tu:
Re: Roe Racing Can\'t Reccomend A Good Tuner For There S/C...SAD
First, the name of the shop is ROE Racing. If you are not talking to Mr. Roe about technical issues then you are not talking to the right person. Dave is a nice guy and I have talked to him dozens of times, but he is not versed...
How would the brake balance be with Dave's SRT brakes in front and Tom's 40mm's in back? I would be interested in this as it would not modify the car. Would a proportioning valve be necessary with this setup?
The Kumho V700's are amazing tires but they only come in 18's. You do not have enough power to spin them when up to temperature. Ditch the run flats and get a R-compound tire. They wear out fast but add a lot of safety.
Re: Decide for me...Which do I keep? \'93, \'04 or both
I would pick option D from your list. Or, buy the GT and keep either Viper. I like the look of the 328GTS but I am guessing the driving experiencing is not that exciting compared to either Viper. You really want to keep the cars you...
I think your AF is dead on, I try to get mine at 11.5 as well to be on the safe side. I am surprised that with RR and headers you are getting as much boost creap as you are. With my 10psi pulley I only get to ~ 10.8psi and it looks like you get to 10.0 on the 8psi pulley.
First off, great numbers! :2tu:
I do have 2 questions from looking at the pictures. The first is your TQ seams to drop off very quickly after 4200. Did the 5psi graph look the same but with lower peak numbers? Second, your AF on the dynojet was absolutely perfect and you can see that in...
HAHA :p
Frank, have you ever heard the saying you can't ask the butcher about the beef? I am thinking that is why he is asking people that have no $$ to gain from the answer.
As to answer his initial question I am guessing the hose "blowing off" is due to install error. If installed...
I normally put 2k a year on the car but this year I am down to 1k. It is not that I do not want to drive the car it is that I do not have any time. I drive the Corvette to work and leave the Viper for the weekend. However, every weekend something comes up and leaves me with no time to drive...
