Need verification on LC-1\'s to VEC3

Could anyone verify that one out wire from the first LC-1 goes to (analog 1 in) on the slave side of the VEC, and one out wire from the second LC-1 goes to (analog 2 in)on the slave side?That's all I have left to do on the wiring!Thanks!

Why would you want to log with the VEC, the Innovate, LMA3 or DL32, are made for logging. The functionality cannot be compared.

Logging with the VEC puts all the parameters on one graph. Boost, RPM, AF and anything else you want to see that the VEC will record. Also the LC does not come with RPM logging so the AF graph by itself would not be too useful.

Aaron,

Would you take a second and describe how you approached your system? I simply have no background on the subject.

1. Do we add more points for data recoding to either the engine or the exhaust system, or is it all accounted for in the Vec?

2. Did you run gauges, computer cables, etc. into the cabin? If so how did you come in throught the firewall, or is it wireless?

3. Do you run the larger add-on Vec program set? Do you find yourself refering to it often? Do yo0u find yourself tuning the Vec with it often?

ANything you offer up would be appreciated. Pics?

Blue GTS:

It is not difficult and you can get all that data into the LM3 or DL32. I input:

RPM
A/F
Vacuum
Fuel Pressure
IAT
Throttle Position

You can also get:
injector pulse
advance
coolant temp

and host of others all off of the PCM (limit is six on the LM3, 32 on the DL32)

That is with the LM3, I am changing to the DL32 over the winter so that I can get more than the six channels offered by the LM3. The DL32 has a SD card so that data transfer is easier and the logging time is basically endless. Even with the LM3 you get over 30 minutes. If you install the XD gauge you can use that to initiate the logging. With it permanently installed you have the ability top catch more data.

The output data is also more flexibile. With either of the logging boxes you can also plot true hp and torque and when you make a change it shows up as positive or negative. For the road racers you can show braking G's.

Sorry I couldn't help out. I just did a straight VEC3 "in-line".

Found this on VEC2, not sure there is anything out yet on VEC3. Doubt it will answer your question though.

I have all the instructions for the VEC,but it isn't specific on the LC-1's.I pm'd you a question on that purple single wire coming from the VEC3!

Naming the inputs, either slave or master, is done on the log settings page.

Roe's latest software will permit A/F logging on ANY of the analog inputs.

I have TPS and external MAP on slave and A/F on master so it's easier to remember.

So can you splice into any analog input(master "OR" slave)for A/F that is not being used? Thanks!

Well my instruction didn't match on the Map info.Said two white wires spliced together("analog 1 in" on master and slave)to stock map output.They are PURPLE wires spliced together.That would also eliminate analog 1 input if using the stock map sensor per instructions!

The VEC has a internal MAP sensor to measure boost pressure. The factory MAP cannot read positive pressure.

On the VEC2 Master analog 3 OUT and Slave analog 3 IN are used for the internal MAP. Sounds like they are now using analog 1 for this purpose.

Any other input can be used.

Thanks Rick! I'm N/A so no boost. Sean sent a card for the top-fed injectors I'm using and it's written for the factory map sensor.Definitely a great learning experience!

Thanks to Sean saying to use analog 2 input on the master side for the left bank, and analog 2 input on the slave side for the right bank!
