here is a pic of a pantera with cups on the back and a different tire on the front. as long as you are just driving the car on the street or going to the drag strip you are fine. for road racing you want the same kind of tires front and rear otherwise you will develop a push in the corners :2tu:
Re: YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS - THE NEW VIPER WILL RUN 10\'S IN THE 1/4 MILE
i have yet to see a rollbar in a gen-3 viper coupe. if anybody has a pic please post it up
Re: 08\' Viper, Gallardo, or keep what I have?
+1.......oh wait i already bought one, lol
personally i would rather have an 08 viper than a gallardo.
if i had the dough i would buy a saleen S7 twin turbo. :usa:
Re: YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS - THE NEW VIPER WILL RUN 10\'S IN THE 1/4 MILE
one of the reasons that gen-3's have slower 1/4 mile times than gen-2's is because their 19" tall rear wheels have made the already overdriven 3.07 rear gears even more overdriven. bottomline is that the...
Re: YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS - THE NEW VIPER WILL RUN 10\'S IN THE 1/4 MILE
if the car still comes with the standard 3.07 rear gears then i say no 10's. but if the car gets a 3.42 rear gear like the C6 Z06 has then i would say 10's are a possibility with a good sixty foot time and a sea level...
the C6 Z06 has 3.42 rear gears and vipers have 3.07 rear gears. i would assume that the 2008 viper will still be equipped with 3.07 rear gears? that being the case i bet a 1/4 mile race for the new viper will at best result in a tie with the C6 Z06. now on a road course the viper should beat the...
by definition to an american living in the usa, an exotic car is a supercar from overseas. the saleen S7 and the ford GT are supercars but are not exotics to us americans.
bought my viper back in the summer of 2001 when i was 34. just turned 40 last month and bought a Ford GT last week. lol, i think i am having a midlife crisis
since 1953 there have been nearly 1.4 million corvettes built
since 1992 there have been approximately 30,000 vipers built
there are only 4,038 ford GT's and 118 GT-40's
only a lil over 1,000 of the original 60's cobras were built but the aftermarket has made this the most copied car in the world.
depends on how easy it is to mod the new variable valve train. the old motor i think will proove itself to be much easier to modify for more power with less $$$. 10.2 compression ratio is not very boost friendly either.
notice how the horsepower has increased by 90 but the torque has only increased 25 despite an increase in displacement to 8.4 litres as a result of a bigger bore. this is because of the variable valve timing (VVT). if they didn't have to do this in order to get the engine to pass the smog test...
Re: New 08\' Viper pics and info!
i agree. but i am so attached to my ACR; especially the classic lines which are so daytona coupe like, that i just can't see parting with it. maybe i will sell my Z06 and buy the new viper instead. the other problem i see with gen-3 vipers is that i have yet...
man does that car ever look hot with that red paint and those white stripes!! and now that it has 600 hp it even looks hotter! does it look good enough for me to sell my gen-2 viper coupe? nope. but i might just sell my Z06 and buy this here new viper. but before i do that i gotta pick up my new...
