There are PLENTY of tuners in the area that are completely competent. There is absolutely nothing special about tuning a Viper over tuning any other late model EFI car. I say this with the utmost confidence as I have had multiple different rides, tuned multiple different rides, and have tuned...
Typical forum lemming mentality. It happens all over, especially bad with technical advice where everyone jumps on the latest fad even if they don't have first hand experience.
Simply put, no.
SCT allows full manipulation of timing and fuel tables as well as many other parameters. There is no secret manipulation that can be done to unlock more power; it's just fuel and timing.
SCT is fully capable.
There are some interesting posts in here. Check my posts,i made a thread regarding this very topic recently with dyno graphs and comparisons. Best bang for the buck was an Sct custom tune and an intake. End results were approximately 30hp/40tq at the tires for those. The k&n is a great mod for...
The RSI Clutch looks like my old RPS Billet Carbon Twin. That was a STELLAR clutch and I had a great time with it. Put over 700 through it and it drove great. Never chattered, smooth engagement and a lot of fun.
Good luck!
No wonder why I have a bad back, my daily is a Grand Marquis!
I'm tall so I don't have the bottom of the seat issue, but I agree they could benefit from a bit of lumbar support.
Certainly sounds like a clutch that isn't too happy. Cheap way to check for certain is a dyno with a "Gear Ratio" output. If you put the car in 4th and make a pull, the "Gear Ratio" graph should be a straight line, or close to it. If the clutch is bad, you can expect the "Gear Ratio" to...
Fuse is blown. For some reason mine did the same thing when I plugged it in at first.
Change the fuse and it'll be good to go. Sure sign since the light doesn't come on.
I'm looking to throw new tires on the car and figured now is the time to put a set of wheels on it.
Where can I pick up a set of 5 spokes? Anyone have a set with Invos, PS2s or Kumhos they want to sell to fund an upgrade?
7:59 sure as hell sounds a little better.
The problem with "ring" times is that there is on standard for tires, suspension and how similar to the production model they need to be. Couple that with driver experience on the track, it's a tough comparison track.
I'd think the SRT10 should be...
Few things, the computer probably wasn't setting off OBD-II "Codes" but rather a "Readiness" signal. The computer needs to make certain that none of the parameters are off for a few different systems, and this takes time IE the driving for 50 miles or so.
The codes weren't actual problems...
Great post! I saw this on my phone earlier and was afraid people would agree with the myth.
I've never seen a properly tuned car lose power with less restrictive exhaust.
Great writeup but there shouldn't be any surging or reversion on a cam of that size. It's definitely a matter of giving it to a tuner with some experience in person. We've run into numerous occassions where we had the same cam in two different cars and the tunes had to be tweaked to prevent...
If you've seen my first dyno thread, you'll know I have a thing for testing out the mods we make and see what value they have.

I'd like to see the restriction we see with stock cats...
I would see that being reasonable.
Who has a set of factory exhaust connection pipes (cats) that I can weld in a straight pipe and test it on the dyno? I'd likely weld one set at a time, so comparison of both sets of cats, 1 set of cats and no cats.
