I went out to KBB and plugged in two identical 2002 GTS - one with 3,000 miles and one with 36,000 miles.
The one with 3,000 miles came back at about $53,000
The one with 36,000 miles came back at about $50,800
Not much difference in my opinion.
Imagine the crackling sound of a big block V8 running dry headers combined with the thumping of a 6 foot diameter airplane propeller and that's what an airboat sounds like.
I shouldn't comment on drone since I haven't heard any other exhaust systems. Besides, drone is very subjective. When I cruise down the road at 2000rpm I hear a nice rumble and folks can hear me coming. Some folks may call that rumble "drone" - I don't know. I have no problem hearing music...
Not much to look at in this pic other than the tips. They're rolled edge stainless just like the exhaust that costs twice as much. I centered the tips about an inch towards the front when cold so that when hot, they are exactly in the center of the opening. No rattling either (hot or cold).
I got mine from Zero. Since they make most of their stuff to order, I called them ahead of time and got them to custom make mine with a 90 degree "lip" in it to cover the perpendicular edge of the sill rather than simply lay on top of it. No extra charge either.
The Mopar part number is: P4510608
I have no way of knowing what type of HP gains but I would expect them to be similar to other “side pipe” systems. I would think any gains would be achieved by the removal of the crossover more than the exhaust itself. The side pipe exhaust is nothing more...
I’m still not sold on why someone should spent $700.00 more for Corsa Track vs. a system made by the “other” guys. I have the system made by Mopar. Looks good, sounds good, works good, no melted body parts, etc. The only problem I have is that the $700 I saved is burning a hole in my wallet...
Rest assured, I‘ve been in all 50 states. As a matter of fact, I’ve been in all 50 states at least 3 times over.
I’m aware of the “speed limit” in states like Montana.
If diffs are only failing beyond 70 mph, then you have to realize that the feds could easily ask you why you’re driving over the posted speed limit. That could very easily be their stance. The feds aren’t going to post a recall because Viper diffs locking up at excessive speed causes loss of...
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I have trouble remembering an owner reporting failure with stock first hand (stock gears and stock HP). It seems like reports of failure with stock HP is almost always a 2nd hand report.
It's been my observation that almost all the broken diffs reported on this site are on cars with blowers. DC will make that claim to the government also.
Any of you guys know how to remove the large plastic shroud behind the seats? It may be fairly intuitive but I really haven’t gone back there yet to investigate.
I seen a few pics of carbon fiber replacements back there, etc.
Steve - the top line of the instruction sheet says:
"Mopar Performance Parts Exhaust System Part number P4510608"
The tips can be seen in the attached pic.
I’ve stated before that I’m a cheapskate so naturally I went with the cheapest cat-back I could find. The system I purchased is from Mopar Performance. It basically consists of Borla XR mufflers and some short pieces of pipe that comprise the tailpipes. The tip is rolled-edge stainless steel...
My brakes squeak when I'm pulling into the driveway but heck, if I took my cars to the shop everytime I heard brakes squeak, I'd be doin' a lot of walkin'.
It’s been working dog-slow for me all morning.
I set up a protocol analyzer on my session. The analyzer shows my HTTP GET leave my machine headed to /forums/ubbthreads.php followed by an acknowledgement of the GET by VCA2.VIPERCLUB.ORG (12.41.224.6). The acknowledgement is retuned to me...
Since I’m a cheapskate, I went with “Green Filters” along with the 3-ply induction hose from Snakeoyl. I believe the stock intake for the SRT-10 is adequate as long as you get rid of the “accordion” hose. The Snakeoyl solution does that. As a matter of fact, I’m willing to bet the stock...
