I'm thinking about putting Corsa exhaust and Random Technology cats on my SRT 10. I've heard good things about this combination and was wondering what you guys thought of it? Also, where is sold the cheapest and is it hard to install? Is there any cutting involved or is it all bolt ons and so on?

Have both in my Garage and will be done by the end of the week. Bought from Jon-b. I can say this that both are top quality pieces. I was very impressed with the cats. I will update when it is done...

I'm doing the same mods! Waiting for the cats to arrive...they shipped out yesterday! Should sound badass without any warrenty issues. Direct bolt on from what I'm told. I will post before and after sound clips same day I get everything on!

I’m still not sold on why someone should spent $700.00 more for Corsa Track vs. a system made by the “other” guys. I have the system made by Mopar. Looks good, sounds good, works good, no melted body parts, etc. The only problem I have is that the $700 I saved is burning a hole in my wallet so bad that I’m now going to have to buy a new wallet.

Let me ask this, when the Random Tech high flow cats are put in place, doe's this bring down the total cats to 2 on the car, rather than 4.

I've always thought that by removing the sec. cats, you would achieve a very good flow rate. Seems like the primary cats are not as restrictive since the car has another set right in line with them. I guess someone needs to do a flow test on the primary cats, against the Random Techs

Outlaw,
I was not aware Mopar made a performance exhaust system for the srt-10. How does it sound and are their any HP gains? I would think the PVO engineers would make a system
that provides some extra performance out of the engine.
Thanks for the info.

Skip,
With the random tech's it does go down to 2 cats (2 high flow cats)....the first set of cats are very restrictive and the secondary cats are high flow cats from what I hear. Therefore I heard it really isn't worth taking the secondary cats out. Best to upgrade to high flow cats if you really want to take advantage of the setup...at least this is my understanding.

Well they were installed today. I love it. The setup is loud. But not 60's muscle car loud. Great exhaust note. And the sidesills are nice and cool. No throwing of codes. I am a happy man....

Do you think it should have been louder? Is it atleast twice as loud? Can it set off car alarms under WOT? I'm waiting for my cats to come and don't want the setup to not be loud enough!

At least twice as loud. Will is set off car alarms? Maybe. I don't think it is that loud. Maybe I will wait until 2am and drive through town testing the decibel level...

I was hoping it would be extremely loud! I guess I really do have to get headers to get to that level. Have you driven around in the car yet to test it out with the top up and down? Easy to carry a conversation? Did the exhaust note get deeper? I had a trans am (ws6) with a open borla..I'm hoping after spending as much on just the cats as the full exahust did on that car I would at least be that loud!

No way Ricky. I too had a Borla exhaust on a C5 no cats and this is no where near as loud... The exhaust note is great and yes you can carry on a conversation. With headers would it be any louder? I would think so...

AHHHHH...I'm disappointed and my cats aren't even here yet! I want the thing to be LOUD and when I mean loud I want people to turn around and be like wut the hell just started up  ...Oh well I guess its time to start saving for some headers!

The Mopar part number is: P4510608

I have no way of knowing what type of HP gains but I would expect them to be similar to other “side pipe” systems. I would think any gains would be achieved by the removal of the crossover more than the exhaust itself. The side pipe exhaust is nothing more than a big steel can with a pipe shoved thru the center. You can’t do much tweeking to that.

In terms of sound – I really like it. When I get into the throttle it kind of sounds like a Louisiana bayou airboat.

Compare the Mopar exhaust to the Borla on their websites. They look identical, but Mopar at 1/2 the price!

29OUTLAW,

could you please provide us with some pictures installed on the car?

The system looks really good on the Mopar HP.

Many thanks

Not much to look at in this pic other than the tips. They're rolled edge stainless just like the exhaust that costs twice as much. I centered the tips about an inch towards the front when cold so that when hot, they are exactly in the center of the opening. No rattling either (hot or cold).

29OUTLAW, is there a lot of drone? How loud is it? Have you heard a Corsa in person? How do you compare it with that? Thanks

I shouldn't comment on drone since I haven't heard any other exhaust systems. Besides, drone is very subjective. When I cruise down the road at 2000rpm I hear a nice rumble and folks can hear me coming. Some folks may call that rumble "drone" - I don't know. I have no problem hearing music from the radio and although I've never had a passenger in my car, I would probably have no problem socializing with someone in the passenger seat.

The real question is, what does a Louisiana bayou airboat sound like? If it sounds like a mean Viper, I'm sold!!

Price of the Mopar system really has me interested.
If any sound clips are available, post them.

Imagine the crackling sound of a big block V8 running dry headers combined with the thumping of a 6 foot diameter airplane propeller and that's what an airboat sounds like.
