    Matt, and 98912 I agree. That's why I use the proper Optima battery. It never leaks, and as long as you don't deep cycle it, they are very reliable. I do understand wanting the original battery.     Something tells me, you could have your original battery redone. I'm sure someone has done this. You'll probably have too look at some other sites with older cars. Hemings might have a lead.
