um......, my old gen 1 kicks ass, I don't give a **** about the newer cars (much) and really don't care lately. My gen 1 is for sale: BTW.....,

It's a perfect viper jalopy! The first I've seen!!! So glad to finally see a viper driven to the grave. Maybe a good time to get my 17yo a real car..... LOL
' 93 is a strange one. Mine is an early '94 (12,'93) .. Look at the build date to know were yours fits in... I have books for '94,95 if you need a virtual hand.....
Find the wizard.....
Harbor Freight... Get two.
$100 buys a 'good enough' steel low-clearance jack. I have three and they all work fine and never 'let me down'.....lol
Just follow safety procedures.... Once it's up set your stands!! (I don't trust Harbor Freight crap either).
Cheers!
I've done four (so far) in my garage. It's an easy weekend project job. Materials are about $700 +/- . It's a simple engine to work on. I love the gen 1 Viper and drive mine often! Don't blow away thousands of $s on such a simple job......
Cheers!
A good quality electronic tender will keep a battery for 9 years.......or more. My experience is with deep-cycle UPS batteries but even car batteries like a constant low charge voltage while resting in the garage.... Temps matter. Cold batteries last longer but need a lower tending voltage...
I'd change the subject matter back to the OP, if I may....
As an old-school viper guy, my answer is No. The forums here still represent the best of VIPER. ..... As with all forums, there's tons of BS here; just sift through it to find what you want.
Does your A/C work? When you switch to defrost the A/C comes on to remove the moisture from the air. Adding heat with no A/C will only cause the window to fog.
Cheers
^ Too bad you couldn't work that Maggie Valley trip to coincide with the TOD gathering. It's a good time and a fun place to meet other owners and posters here.
Cheers
If you intend to do it yourself..... CHEERS! It's an easy job. The viper engine is a tinker toy. Here's what you need: Dan's MLS head gaskets (for sure). You also need new intake and exhaust gaskets. Also, get new t-stat crossover gaskets. Want a new t-stat? go with a 180. It's...
It's all been said. ( I'd bet that's the first time anyone's ever swapped clutch fluid in your '97 ?) .......
Bring it back to the same guys who replaced the slave. Could be air in the system but probably not IMO, be ready to also replace the master.
For regular street driving any DOT 4 will do (change it every three years, use it or not), Same for the clutch...... If you're flushing the breaks and have it up, may as well do the clutch too.....
Mines on stands in the garage now. I'm doing all the fluids tomorrow.
