30K is very reasonable for all that. Do you run an AEM or VECII?
Also good points about the turbos and heat, I'm thinking more of a car like my Supra where the turbos sit at the same leve as the head in the engine bay. I take it the turbos on your system are mounted low and towards the back of...
Actually 980RWHP according to this thread:
http://vca2.viperclub.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB14&Number=448972&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=2
Underhood temperatures will definitely by higher with turbos than SC's. The main reason for that is that the turbos are hanging off the exhaust, therefore they themselves are just as hot as the exhaust and will radiate heat.
One of the reason for TT cars to be so much higher in price is the exhaust manifolds themselves. Most tuners use good quality stainless stell for the manifolds and the costs can easily be ~$1200 to $2000 EACH! Plumbing will usually be a bit more as they require more of it, you also have to make...
Hey Greg, thanks for the supporting post:) And I agree, any Viper is a kicka$$ car, more so a Supercharged Viper, and this car looks sweet with the wheels it has:)
Going backwards? Were we racing in reverse?:) If so I agree with you:) The only time I was going backwards was when you did a "Corvette sucker punch":) There's no shame in losing to a ~740 RWHP car in a 649 RWHP car. If your car made 840 RWHP and you raced me and beat me I wouldn't have a...
XLR8, all I know is that when you "blipped the engine" I was next to you after making up 1.5 car lenghts:) Not trash talking either, no need for that. But we could meet at the Pavilions this Saturday night if you like (or some other time, I don't have a problem with that), I would like to meet...
Thanks for the "tip" on the stripes and different years, I did not know there was a difference.
Here's a tip from me to you, reread the race post. He hit it (nailed it, got on it, etc.) while I was BEHIND him and I made up roughly 1.5 car lenghts between ~80 MPH and 120 MPH and was EVEN with...
I agree. However with rumors of a 500+ HP Z06 (which would give it a better power to weight ration than an SRT10 if they are true) and the Ford GT making well over 600 real HP (despite Ford's claim of 550 HP and even though the GT is not a direct competitor to the Viper as it's almost 2X as...
LIRacer, it certainly looked AWESOME, nice condition, nice wheels, and the Roe SC.
Clint, the B&B exhaust on that car was LOUD! I'm thinking he has no cats from how loud it was and compared to Vipers other friends of mine own without cats. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet the owner as he...
Well my car drinks only a mix of C16 (6 gallons per tank, I get the stuff delivered to my house) and 91 octane since I only drive it on the weekends:)
Travis, I had the boost set at 24.5 PSI (probably 725 to 750 RWHP as it made 826 RWHP at 29.4 PSI). The Viper owner was leaving the Pavillions...
Saw it last Saturday night at the Scottsdale Pavilions, it had a Roe Supercharger and HRE wheels. Not sure of the year but it was blue with white stripes so I assume it was a 96 or 97. I believe the owner said it had 649 RWHP and 802 RWTQ.
ET at the track can be an indication of HP, but mostly it's an indication of traction. MPH at the end of the 1/4 mile is a HP.
I have not run my current Supra at the track (no cage and battery relocated to the trunk without a shut off switch). But I had a previous Supra (I have owned 12...
That Ford fan doesn't understand HP at all. I bet his friend with the Maruader that makes 76 more peak HP is only going about a tenth quicker but his MPH at the end of the 1/4 mile is much higher. Also you can't compare a HEAVY automatic car like the Marauder (which will require more torque to...
Chicago, no offense taken on the ricer comment:) I don't consider myself one either and despise them as well;) Thanks for the compliments on the HP numbers! Likewise on your numbers, it's always impressive to see the high HP Vipers put down with such low boost!
As far as the lag, you are...
No offense taken, most people don't consider a 950+ HP Supra rice, and I hate the typical Honda ricers as much or more than most domestic owners. Heck when I had my Z28 daily driver with a flowmaster and no cats I would rev on every single ricer I encountered. They were always afraid of the...
Russ is 100% right on this. The car will have MUCH more lag than if the same turbo was placed closer to the exhaust ports on the heads.
As far as oil return lines using a pump, I believe the LPE TT Vettes use a pump to return the oil as they sit lower than the oil pan.
I bet you are right on the money. Production Lightnings and Mustang Cobras both do to the wheels close to the "claimed" HP to the crank. Another test they had done had the GT doing 128 MPH in the 1/4, which is still more than 550 HP at the crank.
Will be interesting to see GT's with the...
