The search for a SB/cognac '01 GTS is harder than I thought so I'm entertaining a SRT-vert. I tend to shy from first model year cars, but what about the '03? Or should I opt for an '04? What should I look for in buying used besides history/documents?
Well they seek out the T56, but majority of the time it's NOT the Viper tranny. While the Viper T56 has the highest tq rating it's output shaft doesn't allow the crossover to other make engines. Most T56's you see in Street Rods are GM T56 (whcih are Identical minus the beefy Viper output...
IMO you got beat by the DRIVER, not the car. Learn how to launch/drive and you'll see a different outcome. 100RWHP makes up the difference of weight, gearing and aerodynamics. :2tu:
I think any manufactor would be hard press to build a car that has 700hp and under 3,000 pounds and still be at or rear $100K. It would be one HELL of a car that's for sure. I hope they go back to the agressive styling of the Gen II. :cool:

I'm sure that car is just testing the engine, but if all they change is the hood and other MINOR updates I'd be disappointed.
