Red,
I don't live near Festus. Quite far from there. The autozone near the house is about 1 mile away but like I said for whatever reason, their puller is not close enough to work. I will go back and see if they have more than one set in case there is a difference, plus I will likely buy...
Dave,
How much did you have to modify the puller? Hard to see from the pic, but what keeps the fingers locked into the groove?
Was going to call NAPA and see if they had any tools for rent.
For my car, there was NO way I was going to get the AutoZone puller on it (red box). I might have...
I tried the one from Autozone (in a red box) not sure of the manuf. No way in hell to force that one.
Then went to Advanced Auto and theirs was a bit better (black box) but still not quite there. This version was very close but seemed to be mostly for Fords and GM based on the labeling inside...
I am doing the change out of the PS pulley and bracket. Bracket is on with no problems. I am doing it the "easy" way by not removing the pump.
I have gone to two auto stores and rented the pullers. Neither stores pulley halves will fit the groove in the plastic pulley. They are too wide...
Couple of friends at work drive a Prius. They know I have a Viper as I drive it work once in a while. One day they were giving me static about the car. I prompty told them that my viper is a hybrid. I stated that I did not get the V8 nor the V12 version. I got the V10 thus it is a hybrid...
Ha, fooled you. My Viper has the V12 SUPER VIPER option :drive::omg: available to only Yellow Vipers. So you "regular" Viper owners should rethink any thoughts of challenging ANY yellow viper. I accept your humble apology. :D
What a GREAT time. The corvette club was very gracious and the event was without any problems. Would love to do this again next year. Brats were good as well.
Ended up with 32/28 tire pressures. Never got out of first gear, which sounds slow but on track was fast enough. There should be...
I will be there.
One last idea that some of you may want to do. I tape up my front/rear wheel arches (partially) with tape. Especailly the rear since you will be picking up all kind of stuff from the tarmac. I put painter tape down first then duct tape.
Also if you have a air tank bring...
I know the Dobbs at Lake St. Louis will do Viper wheels. Saw a set there last weekend. $60per. There is a Dobbs on K that did mine a year ago at $50 per.
Mike,
Had plans to go, but turns out Ryan (on leave from Iraq) is planning to ask his girlfriend to marry him. But he is in need of a ring so we are making a trip to see John about a ring. He heads back on Thursday for the rest of his tour.
I hope the weather holds out for you guys...have...
Mike, finally get to make an event. :drive:
Biggest problem as I see it they will all want to ride in the Bumblebee. I guess I can drive each one out individually on the field. I would hate to disappoint but of course its for the team. :D
If you get the CAD file done, please send it to me. I can take a ProE or Unigraphics file without a problem. Got a full machine/sheetmetal shop at my disposal.
Mike,
I can be tentative and will know for a fact in a couple of weeks... Still travelling like crazy. Missed the car care while in So. Africa and will miss the winery cruise while in Melbourne. Suppose to go to Japan in June.
Will they have parking for us during the game?
