I've had a couple of Vettes myself and still like them but you can't beat the Viper's rawness:2tu:
Those are amazing numbers!:omg: I'm looking forward to some track time (1/4 mile) to see what I can click off with this setup. What was your mile per hour with the 9 second run on radial? 145plus?
Less weight and back pressure which will free up horsepower with the restrictive stock exhaust and give it a more aggressive sound...:D
It shouldn't be too loud and I'm sure it will leave an impression on anyone when you give the snake some extra throttle:omg:
Let's see here:
Forgeline wheels with Drag Radials
Upgraded brake pads EBC reds
Short throw shifter...B&M Very Nice
MGW shift know and misc. interior items
Upgraded half shafts 800hp
Spec 3 plus clutch assembly 1000hp
Twin turbo install CPE Turbo...see the Gen 2 forum for details
Thats all...
I was born in South Carolina! My mom lived outside of Atlanta for years in Rosswell GA.
Awesome color combo...I thought about changing my GTS to the Snakeskin Green but the Sapphire works for me now.
Do you plan on doing any mods to the car?
Wow 16 pages of posts!!! I'm discussing a twin turbo install and dont get that many replies!!! LOL
Viper girls definately get more attention;)
Congrats on the car...I didn't feel like reading through all the posts. What part of the country are you in?
My only advice for the Viper is...
Thanks for the advice on the driving:drive:
I'm sure there will some relearning to drive this beast.
Nice combo for you and your wife. I'm sure you guys have alot of fun cruising around together on the weekends or a nice sunny day:2tu:
I wouldn't get to discouraged with the information your getting from both sides. But if you notice the posts of the individuals such as myself that own both (or have) then you can see the maintenance issues are much less on the Viper than the Vette. (Excluding the high horsepower monsters out...
Yes Chris and Karen are great with the paint work:2tu:
Wow small world...Jersey Village is an "interesting" place to live.
I'll send you a PM with my info.
Trust me the thought of "blowing" it up has crossed my mind. I want to get the TT kit first then learn the power and in the mean time save up some more cash then get the bottom redone the right way with the Stryker heads I'm even thinking of going with a differant intake based on what Paolo...
Beautiful...:2tu: I believe I saw your car at Richey's getting the work done...
They are doing my side sills and some paint work to my GTS when I get it back from Paolo.
Jim,
This place is awesome and is where I bought my GTS. Their cars are "almost" show room condition. Talk to Merry Carmichael and I'm sure you can work the price down abit.
If you need to finance then they have great finance programs for these cars.
Check out the link and good luck.:2tu...
Yes for now...that's why I'm going with the Methanol injection. ;)
Next year's project (2009) will be to pull the motor and set it up with billet main caps, forged rods/pistons and a set of Stryker heads with shaft mount roller rockers. Not sure which cam yet but Paolo and I are going to work...
I would like to hope for 800 plus rwhp with the Methanol...:2tu:
Paolo mentioned your car as well. Don't you have the Stryker heads on yours? Greg Good said that would be the way to go when I start the engine re-build process.
The time has finally come and Paolo came down Friday the 8th to pick up my GTS for my side mount twin turbo install. :D
Two words to describe Paolo: Awesome Guy! :headbang:
So I met up with Paolo at Greg Good's place (great guy too) and from there proceded to my house.
Before Paolo came...
I had more issues with my C5 Z06 than my Viper and they were both low mileage cars...
If it's a cash flow issue get the Vette but you will always wonder why you didn't buy the car of your dreams.
I added mine to my lighter. I went to Honda's website and bought the S2000 push button start for $40.00 I had my radio guy put it in for $50.00. You can still use the key to start the car but its more for a cool factor and the chicks and kids dig it.
Ok going back to the original post:headbang:
Awesome run with the 2008. Keep the fast times coming!
Trying running a 700 hp car down the strip with stock tires. It requires a lot of skill with the clutch. So why not Drag Radials there basically street tires anyway.:dunno:
