Maybe some of you in the "know" can help me understand this (Mark). The specs on the ACR-X say the rears are a 13 x 19, but because it is a parking brake delete build, so you can slap an 18" on the rear. An 18" tire on the rear would give you a better performance "slip angle" as well as many...
Exactly, 15x driving a stick you'll kill yourself, even worse you'll kill your passanger and maybe some pedestrians. Stick to something your speed like a piece of tupperware and keep the streets safe. Nuff said.
The easiest way is to buy an open center trailer. I've owned a few, they're light and can be towed with any V8 SUV. With the open center you crawl under the trailer when you hook it up and the straps come down out of the way of the splitter, it works great, secure and no mods.
I bought my 2000 RT/10 new and kept it about 3-4 years. The only major problem you could have is on the "early build" 2000s. About 200 of the early model year Vipers had a piston sleeve that sometime didn't let the rings seat right. My '00 RT was one of those cars, it burned a quart of oil every...
The R3SO6s are legal on the street and in SoCal they work. The old R3SO3s wouldn't because they were not steel belted and were fragile. Driving them on the street will not bring them up to temp therefore will not "heat cycle". Don't drive 'em in the rain.
So you're saying the Cups don't grip as good as PS2s on a dragstrip? I don't know, I only have experience with then road racing where they are great. Almost as good as Hoosier R3SO6s.
Being in Southern California I have never worried about tire warm up. But on a road course track I drove the ACR on Willow Springs for the last Viperdays a year ago. The Cup tires are absolutely great on a track, after 3 track days I needed to replace the corded fronts and the rears were OK...
From experience, I have seen 2 '97 GTS's put a hole in their block on a road course because of oil starvation. The '97s only had 7 quart pans and both cars were stock (including tires). I've run literally scores of track events in my '00 and with a 10 quart stock oilpan had no issues. When I got...
Welcome to Viper roadracing, a completely different animal then an awd, rear engined Porsche. Your not pushing hard enough if you don't get a couple of E ticket rides. I did a 1080 spin last time out :D
