Okay, so 25 mm for the rear, what amount should we try on the front? I'm willing to give this a shot. Did you need longer studs? If so, where did you get them and who pressed them into the hub? Thx in advance.
At this point, I have no idea to what extent the dealer's statement "the engine has no oil" is valid. It must have some oil, because there is no way the engine would have perfect temps and pressure from all the guages. And yes, I do check oil on a regular basis; yes, the engine had oil after...
Car has 6,216 miles, all stock, and I've owned it since new. I am a long time sports car enthusiast who keeps his vehicles (including sportbikes) in immaculate condition both mechanically and aesthetically.
So, we're on a recent drive with some other exotics and we start to hear a rattle...
The winning concept would be to organzie a venture to purchase the brand. Chrysler could remain involved at some very low level of participation (perhaps a minority owner, with the ability to repurchase a majority stake when they get back on their feet).
Sell preferred interests to Viper...
All things considered, the cars are holding well and will continue to do so. The low volume is obviously key, and now the ACR putting Viper back on top of the performance ladder is excellent publicity that we've needed for a long time. Moreover, if Chrysler wraps us up in the next few years...
Beautiful job!!! I'm certainly in need of a speed fix, and now I need to decide on the options (Roe, Paxton, Heffner TT). Any 1/4 mile performance numbers yet? Or better yet, a video run b/w Roe and stock Paxton ;))
The latest trend in wheels around me (so. fla.) seems to be monoblocks. See HRE P43 or P47. They look nice because they keep a somewhat stock design with the spokes going flush to the outside edge of the rim. Plus, the wheel looks larger in person. Even though they look kinda stock, I like the...
JohnK, thanks. It came after lots of trial and error. I kept going lower and lower until it bottomed in the rear when I hit larger bumps. Then, I raised it a bit. I concentrated on the rear first and then, once the rear was at the correct height, I adjusted the front to track correctly on...
It could be the way your driving the car. The Viper takes a smooth hand because the steering is so direct. You have to grip the wheel lightly (I steer it at about 8 and 4, with my hands resting on my lap and using only my thumbs, index and middle fingers to finesse the wheel. You need to let...
Excellent responses all and very informative. Thank you very much. It seems like the Paxton is the way to go and that something closer to 700 rwhp is what will be needed to keep peace of mind for a few more years.
Itching to mod my '06 coupe so that I don't have to worry about '08's, Ford GT's, new ZR1, new GTR, etc. It appears I need to get to approx. 600-650 rwhp to be safe. Although the ultimate decision is determining whether to spend money on the '06 or move into an '08, what are the pros/cons (other...
Prefix paints the diffuser black. There were pics long ago of the VOI white cars sitting in line waiting for stripes and their diffusers were white (meaning they came painted that way from Dodge). I agree that it looks unpainted, but that is the intended result and Prefix is good at what they do.
Jeff, have you figured out how far out we can push out the track with wheel spacers on a stock body? I've always thought the four corners were a bit "tucked" under the fenders and would love to see a kit for stock wheels to be spaced out about 15-20 mm. Of course, the wheel still needs to lift...
George, thanks for the info. I'll give them a call. Alternatively, if you want to see if we can get a group deal, shoot me a PM and let me know when you want to take the cars over. I'm in no rush, as long as we can do it within the next couple of weeks.
I've had the Motons on my '06 coupe for sometime now, but I never got around to getting the car aligned with the new setup (car has very few miles). Corner weighting would be nice too.
Where in So. Fla. should I take it? Should I take it to Doug Levin or is he purely a motor guy and not a...
Nice job.
DCX showed a beautiful candy apple red on a Charger show car that toured the show circuit last year. I was told that it was coming to production, but I have yet to see one on the street. It was as good a candy apple as we will ever get from an OEM. Anyone else remember that car...
Finally, something that I can purchase from Jeff. Love his designs, but can't bring myself to swapping all of my body panels just yet. Assuming this is a direct replacement for stock '06 hoods, he should sell a bunch of these.
Now I just need a more agressive front fascia that can bolt up to...
Those look great and the PS is fantastic. I would put those on in a second. I'm kinda getting tired of the deep dish deals by now. I like the spokes coming to the edge of the wheel.
