    Oil for Engine Break-In

Synthetic oil coats the cylinders as soon as it goes in and the engine is started. It cannot be undone. Synth is so slick (too slick for break-in, so I too wish we could get the motors with regular oil and then work into synth around 3,000 miles or so) that you cannot remove its coating...

    DIY oil change

I'm with Jon on this one. Nobody touches my performance vehicles (the racebikes and Viper) that I can't trust. At high speeds, I need the peace of mind knowing that everything is Loctited if necessary, and not falling off. Same goes for washing the Viper. The daily drivers go to the mechanic...

    Front end options (Pics)

I agree that this is an excellent start to creating a very pleasing front fascia (which is the only part of the car that I believe needs some help). I like the size of the opening, although the center vertical support appears too wide (and is there a lip on the back of the openings that needs...

SRT-C sighting yesterday near Valdosta, GA on I-75 South

Hey, that was us!!! We tried waving back but kept hitting the side windows ;) We had just picked up the "black beast" from Ringgold and spent a few days in ATL before commencing the long, but fun drive back to Boca Raton. Of the entire trip, yours was the only other Viper we came across...

Anyone have pics of a Penske setup???

Just returned home with the "Black Beast" and need to get this thing lowered a bit. The stock gap over the rear wheels is just insane. I am contemplating Motons or Penske, but favoring Penske because I have a bunch of experience with them roadracing motorcycles. I have seen the Moton installs...

    WHO CAN POST MY PICS?

Wow, 3" - that seems like a ton, but it looks fantastic. It just goes to show how high these things sit stock. The gap above the rear wheel on the stock car is ridiculous for a car like this. Any problem with rear wheel rub when hard on the gas???

    WHO CAN POST MY PICS?

Looks awesome!!! Do you know if the ride height is adjusted by spring rate or via collar or clevis on the shock body itself? If by spring rate, what spring rates did you use? I may want to try that on my coupe. thanks in advance.

Pics of my new GTS-R Concept car Facia

Any pics side by side with a stock front end? Also, I assume your going to produce these sale. What material will the production piece be made from and what $$$ is the target?

Got my Viper coupe today.... Yeah!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the warm "official" welcome. The car is perfect. We definitely need tints though as we're probably in about 20 photographs taken by strangers on the highway, at the gas station, and at the car rental center ;) Doug, please forward my email to Ivan. It is...

Got my Viper coupe today.... Yeah!!!!!

Viper585, thanks for hosting the pics! Love that blue, but I also loved the yellow, red, and copperhead they had. Not a bad pallette to choose from at all. But, if I thought the black looked good during the day, it was awesome last night.

Got my Viper coupe today.... Yeah!!!!!

Well, it took a bit to get from South Florida to Ringgold, but we arrived this morning at the dealership ready to take delivery of a beautiful Blu/Sil that was waiting for us all polished up. The paperwork began and then it happened! I walked past a garage bay where a Blk/Sil was being cleaned...

Help: Picking up SRT tomorrow, need Clearbra in ATL

Well, we picked up the car this morning (pics in a separate thread as soon as I wake the GF for the download cable). Last minute switch from Blue/Silver to Black/Silver. Anyway, we took it to Mike and he called me about 20 minutes later to say he wasn't comfortable applying the 3M film over...

VCA MEMBER SRT OWNER NEEDS HELP BADLY!!

Well, if you have nothing, then it is electrical. A Viper tech should be able to run it down, but it has to be close to either the switch (the ignition) or the power source (the battery) given that nothing is working. This should not take four weeks to diagnose. Flat bed it to another dealer.

Help: Picking up SRT tomorrow, need Clearbra in ATL

Thanks Vinny. I gave Mike a call and we're hooking up tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. I take it you were happy with the install. Any areas I should avoid? Does it make sense to go so far up the hood as he suggested, and all the way out to the wheel wells? Did you do mirrors too? Anything else I...

Help: Picking up SRT tomorrow, need Clearbra in ATL

Jumping on a plane tonight to go visit Mike Robbins. We'll be driving the new coupe home over the next few days, taking it easy. Can anyone recommend a good Clearbra installer in the Atlanta area that has done work on their SRT? Pics when we return. Thanks in advance. Scott.

    Z06 vs. 05 Viper (with 3 mods.)

The biggest problem with high hp cars is getting the power to the ground. So, slicks certainly help there. However, I would suggest a good suspension first. Stock suspension on all cars is crap. Go get yourself some Motons, KW's or Penske's and you should pick up the few tenths you need for...

    WOW...looks good

Those are Vipers getting ready for paint. The front and rear caps are removed, the hood and trunk are opened and left raised slightly (so that they can paint around the leading edges), and then the car is masked off. Those cars in the background are standard body style Vipers.

    Sound Systems in a GenIII....

I was thinking about the Sony mex-bt5000. RB1 would have been nice had it had MP3. But since it does not, I'll take a better head unit that can do it and just do my best to make a clean install with a good kit.

    Exhaust

Nader, that is promising. It sounds like I could start first with just the 3" cat back system and attempt to keep the stock cats by using a reducer for the diameter change. If that does not keep the heat at bay, then the next step would be to swap out the cats. But at least it appears that...

    Exhaust

So, it sounds like the secondary cats need to be replaced nonetheless if you want any appreciable reduction in heat. Which means we should be going for the full 3" system (without the diameter transition for the stock cats). Which Corsa part is that?

    Sound Systems in a GenIII....

I've read the other posts, and if I were installing an RB1, I would be set. However, I don't really care about NAV but I need MP3 and I don't feel like dragging around my iPod. Plus, bluetooth would be nice for hands free phone use. I'm wondering if anyone has installed a standard DIN size...

    Exhaust

Clearly, there are enough members with different systems that we can get a feel for how effective each one is at reducing the heat. On a scale of 1 (coolest) to 10 (hottest), with 10 being the stock system, how would everyone rate the improvement with: 1) Just Corsa Track cat back system...

...So what is the good deal now?

Blue, I think that will depend on the price of the new car. If it's $100k or more (the current car is $90k MSRP), you may see some upside appreciation from current levels. If the price is lower than that, then yes, prices of used cars will likely drop. But, by then, most new cars will be...

...So what is the good deal now?

Mike hit the nail right on the head. Sure, you could wait for the 600hp 2008 coupe (I thought about it), but you're not going to get it for $75k. Try $95k-100k if you can find one. Just look at the Z06 right now. It's King of the Hill and you can't get one under MSRP. When the Viper is...

Valentine One prices higher on eBay???

Anyone know why the V1 radar detector prices are higher on eBay ($439 and up) than on the V1 site ($399)? Am I missing something here? Are the eBay units hacked to give any additional range/use/sensitivity/features?
