The Tech said water and not the white color he expected from antifreeze. He said it wasn't fuel, but the water thing doesn't make sense. The fuel tank was drained and refilled. No more "water" but still engine problems. I'm planning to get the coolant checked for hydrocarbons.
I'm under the...
I have a problem that no one has been able to solve. The 2008 ran OK for a while with the Mopar computer then started running like a 1970 Plymouth with bad rings and valves.
First time it went to the Viper shop with a Viper tech he said there was water in 8 or 9 and 10. He looked inside and...
I thought the Mopar controller was designed for race fuel but able to run on 93 octane.
It seems to me it takes a long time for the computer to adjust to any changes.
It took 40 miles or more for the Mopar computer to adjust after installation. The 08 is now on 93 octane.
How long will it take for the computer to adjust to race gas or a mixture of race and 93 octane?
I wondering if I go to the track will the computer adjust to race gas fast enough to be...
I used to take my Vets to Tony's, its a great shop but I don't know if they do Vipers.
I have my Viper aligned at TPC Racing in Jessup, MD. Its a great Porsche shop and they got the Viper handling much better. The owner Mike is a racer and really knows his stuff. Tell him vincy sent you.
Here's an update on the PCM. The engine sound has changed a lot and is now more agressive and louder. The throttle response is better and it has more torque driving around town. I haven't gotten on it but the engine is transformed. So in my case it took about 70 miles for the PCM to settle in.
We put the new Mopar PCM in our 2008. The engine sound is that of a dutuned engine and the throttle response is slow. Does it take time for the new PCM to adjust? There is about 40 miles on the PCM and I may feel some improvement in the last few miles. Thanks

I'm not a midget, about 5 10. Its a puzzle to me why the seat seems so low. My other car is a Porsche and I sit high, the fenders drop off, and visibility is good. The contrast between the cars may be why I feel too low in the viper. I'd still like to find a way to raise the seat.
Is there a kit to raise the seats, especially the drivers seat? Or instructions on what to make and how to do it?
The car always felt big to me. Now I realized that I was sitting too low and had a poor view of the right fender. Sitting on towels makes the visibility better. I'm average height...
Thanks for the info. It has been cold and wet, so there is no traction to test the ratio. But I can say the car is more drivable, the shifting is more normal and I can use 6th gear.
