Re: I\'m seeing spots......
Update---I used Mothers Cleaner Wax and a little elbow grease, and got the black spots off. I was afraid of using anything too abrasive, and the Mothers product seemed to fit the bill! Thanks for the help. Now, if I could only get to drive it (still has only 44...
Re: I\'m seeing spots......
manasas1--did you ever attempt to remove the spots, or were they so embedded in the clear coat that they couldn't be removed? The spots on my car feel like they are on top of the clear coat, I can actually feel each individual bump (where there is a large...
Re: I\'m seeing spots......
Thanks for the replies. At this point, I believe that it is paint overspray. The car was in a body shop having a scratch fixed before it was shipped to me. It must have been too close to another car getting painted. I emailed Sal Zaino a day or two ago, but...
Re: I\'m seeing spots......
Thanks for the reply. I've only had the car for a week, and it's been sitting in the garage until today (I haven't driven it yet), so it must have been delivered this way. I bought this car from inventory, but the car has been shipped several thousand miles on a...
I\'m seeing spots......

Update--just drove for about an hour--aggresively. With the stock shift knob back on, the car is actually a little easier to shift than before (longer shift knob, more leverage?). The "noise" seems to be only upon downshifting into second, a slight clanking/whining noise when putting shifter...
Thanks everyone for the replies!
I think maybe that when I initially loosened the locking nut, that I somehow also managed to loosen the shaft, and thats when I got freaked out. But i did tighten the shaft and everything else as tight as I could when I was done. Now, the shift knob and shaft...
Steve and Doug; Thank you for the replies.
Doug-you mentioned that twisting the shifter could be a problem...this makes me a little nervous--when I thought that I had loosened the entire shifter, I used a wrench to tighten it, putting the wrench ONLY on the locking nut and turning it until the...
Background--1996 GTS (#21), B&M Ripper Shifter.
I decided to reinstall the original factory shift knob, replacing the MGW knob that I've had for years. I followed the instructions in the how-to section. I lowered the boot, put a wrench on both the knob and the locking nut, loosened the nut...
