VOI DRAGS UPDATE!!

Any LPE Vipers on this board??
Lingenfelter builds very strong packages for the Viper, and John Lingenfelter is a great person. Sounds like George's LPE 540 Viper is an shining example of that. Dealer wants to replace entire engine!!!
Ocarguy.... Something doesn't quite add up based upon what you are saying. Are you suer this car has no mods to the engine? That code is very prevalent with a particular engine mod. Also, with such a high % leakdown, did they give an indication whether is was coming from the bottom or top end...- LTHL VPR

Sean- Was this on your 96-97 with the more aggressive camshaft? Depending on the year, your Viper may see different gains due to camshaft changes... Also keep in mind that different year Vipers come with slightly different computer programs that change A/F ratio which, in turn, effects power.- LTHL VPR

Dealer wants to replace entire engine!!!
Does your engine have any mods that you know of (since you said it is used)? If it does, your warranty may be denied, and then the expense comes out of your pocket.... The code you mention can trigger in years 2000-02 Vipers with particular mods.... -Wayne- LTHL VPR

One more thing...about your challenge....see if you can find out which engine option he is going with. If $$$ is no object, maybe he'll decide on using a Z-06 engine with something like the LPE 800TT package. 800hp in a 2200lb car is going to take some serious mods to beat!- LTHL VPR

I have seen both the Ultimas and Moslers.... There are 2 Moslers. They brought the all out race version to the Car and Driver Supercar challenge. I think the C&D staff had their money on that car winning it all. I don't think it performed as well as everyone expected. We lost to it by .3 sec...- LTHL VPR

I badgts- Good points. I totally agree with you...When you get into forced induction, your margin of error becomes zero. No such thing as slapping a system together. I was not necessarily referring to supercharged Vipers; I have heard of Vipers with nitrous, forced induction running high compression, use of water injection with forced induction, etc.. all requiring race gas to make peak performance. We have thought about doing a LETHAL 750 S package. That would be a LETHAL 750 (750hp/800tq) with a supercharger. Given that the package made 650rwhp/717rwtq (600rwtq at a LOW 2500 rpms) in naturally aspirated form; with a modest and safe 5 pounds of boost you could expect to make some SERIOUS...- LTHL VPR
