    03 Viper DIY oil change?

TRUE! I have more than 10 'fitted'end cap oil filter wrenches (thanks to motorcycles....) but I find a Lisle oil filter 'removal' tool works really well. One size fits almost all. It works really well on a large variety of filters and gets a real good hold of the filter. Better even than...

    03 Viper DIY oil change?

That's cool. I have no idea about acceptable sulphur content, NOACK volitility or total acidity number of any particular oil so I won't make an oil recommendation. I do know that the viscosity index does measure the viscosity change in motor oil as temperature changes - but I don't know what...

    03 Viper DIY oil change?

2Easy, No disrespect intended, just for discussion. Anytime someone suggests a different oil than the manufacturer recommended oil type or viscosity - I always ask them what the piston ring end gap is and why it's that number. If they don't know, I suggest that the person that does know...

    03 Viper DIY oil change?

If you're not able to determine where a good jacking point is, maybe you should consider getting your oil changed by a professional. But I'll help. There're jacking points under the dor sills. They're re-inforced with a little metal bar. Lay on the ground and you can see them. Jack your...

There's a program I'm putting together for August 16th at Race City. It'll be the last chance for, well.... for ever. They started tearing down the grandstands yesterday.:( It'll have 2 run sessions, one for beginners with instructors and the other for experienced lappers. This is a...

    Calgary Viper Event

No problem Jim, There's a fairly large group of Viper owners in Red Deer so I'm pretty sure that you'll have a nice event. I'm also one of those people that won't race their Viper. I've never raced mine, and I have no intention to do so. Greg

    Calgary Viper Event

Thanks guys. It's highly unlikely that I'll attend any event that doesn't involve doing what Vipers do best - track stuff. I'm just not a 'wax contest' kind of guy. Many folks talk about how great their cars are - and they are great, but without the track it's all just bluster to me. I can...

    Calgary Viper Event

Folks, I’ve received several messages asking about this years Calgary Viper Event. Unfortunately I won’t be putting it together this year. I've been putting together the event for the last 2 years and we really had some good times and did a lot of fun things! Although the Calgary Viper...

    Track Time - Calgary

WHAT A BLAST AT THE TRACK ! I think I had the most fun I've had in a year at the track last night. What a riot. I spent a lot of the evening in a BMW 3 series doing powerslides - what a scream. If you get the chance to go on a wet racetrack.... DO IT! Man that was fun. Greg

    SPOTTED Calgary ACR

On the weekend I saw a red black (red wheels too - maybe a Laguna Edition) ACR. I saw it very briefly going the opposite way from me. I saw it on MacLeod Trail, it was sad. It's like a race horse giving kiddie rides at the fair - an ACR driven only on the street just isn't right. Does it...

    Track Time - Calgary

I'm on track tonight - private event. I took the ACR to work today and I only spun the rear tires once. Not bad! What I really should have driven was a boat. Maybe a Corvette - that's a boat...... Greg

    Naked Viper Thrashed...

That's cool. It’s amazing how small the car looks! Also notice that he barely came off idle the whole time. Well… not really, but he sure didn’t need to rev it out! TORQUE! BTW, the car was hardly trashed! With the wet pavement it wasn't even that hard on the tires! Greg

    Track Time - Calgary

Guys, There's an opportunity to join the Ferrari Maserati Piloti Club. It's a track group that's a lot of fun. I put their track events together for them and I happen to know that they'd like a few more members - and they'll take non Ferrari cars into the group. They really are a great bunch...

    Support Our Troups!

OK. On Tuesday night I did some laps (well... A lap) at Race City on the Harley. It was fun but far from fast. When I pulled into the pits several folks commented on the 'scraping noises'. It's a fun bike, but it's no Gixxer! Greg

    "Wet" track tires...?

In the linked thread I said they were terrible in puddles - that was before I added some pressure to the tires. The extra pressure makes a notable difference. Greg
